Homological and topological properties of locally indicable groups

open access: yesManuscripta Mathematica, 1983
This is an important paper: The authors show that three classes of groups, which have each been introduced in different contexts and for different reasons, actually coincide. This simplifies the existing theory and sheds new light on work of Adams on the Whitehead problem concerning asphericity in 2-complexes.

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

On a family of Wiener type spaces

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1996
Research on Wiener type spaces was initiated by N.Wiener in [15]. A number of authors worked on these spaces or some special cases of these spaces. A kind of generalization of the Wiener's definition was given by H.Feichtinger in [2] as a Banach spaces ...

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Liftings and the property of Baire in locally compact groups [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1993
R. A. Johnson showed the non-existence of translation-invariant Borel liftings for the Haar measure on \(\mathbb{R}/\mathbb{Z}\). This result has been extended to non-discrete locally compact Abelian groups by M. Talagrand and also in paper of J. Kupka and P. Prikry.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...
