Genetic dissection of human ABCE1 in yeast reveals separable requirements for ribosome recycling and suppression of aberrant reinitiation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human ABCE1 cannot functionally replace its yeast ortholog. Yeast–human chimera analysis identified NBD1 as a major interspecies barrier. Genetic screening yielded hABCE1 revertants that rescue yeast viability but fail to suppress aberrant translation reinitiation in the 3′ UTR.

Self‐Regulated Learning Meets AI: Reinterpreting Self‐Regulation, Co‐Regulation, and Socially Shared Regulation in Human–AI Interaction

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Advancing artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed learning and work, yet higher education and professional development programs have not systematically equipped learners for AI‐prevalent environments. This lack of preparation creates uncertainty regarding control, responsibility, trust, and accountability.

First results of the Nordic and Baltic GNSS Analysis Centre

open access: yesJournal of Geodetic Science, 2018
The Nordic Geodetic Commission (NKG) has launched a joint NKG GNSS Analysis Centre that aims to routinely produce high qualityGNSS solutions for the common needs of the NKG and the Nordic and Baltic countries. A consistent and densified velocity field is

Astrometry in Local Reference Frames for Deep Space Navigation [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1988
Future deep space missions will benefit from submilliarcsecond angular navigation accuracy (< 25 km projected distance at Neptune). Conventional Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) measurement strategies entail observations of a radio source (RS) and spacecraft pair.

Governing Low Profile Issues: A Frame Analysis of Drug Addiction in a Local Setting [PDF]

open access: yes
Frame analysis was developed by Erving Goffman as a sociological concept, used for understanding how individual actors relate themselves to the world, creating coherent frames out of individual social experiences.

RNA Sequencing Resolves Cryptic Pathogenic Variants in Mitochondrial Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Mitochondrial diseases are the most common inherited metabolic disorders, characterized by pronounced clinical and genetic heterogeneity that complicates molecular diagnosis. Although DNA‐based sequencing approaches have become standard in genetic testing, up to half of patients remain without a definitive diagnosis.

You got to coordinate, stably: 3D bimanual guidance with haptic and auditory cues

open access: yesFrontiers in Virtual Reality
Non-visual motor guidance is essential for expert hands-on tasks, where visual attention must remain focused on the workspace. However, conveying complex 3D spatial information through wearable haptics remains a challenge due to limited resolution and ...

A time-domain substructure synthesis for finite rotations of flexible mechanical systems

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
This paper presents a floating IBS method for dynamic prediction of structures with finite rotations. The conventional IBS (impulse-based substructuring) method is efficient and accurate in structural transient impact analysis.
