The Administration of Local governments in the United States

In the US, local governments are those below the state’s level. There are two kinds of local governments in most areas: municipalities and counties. Alaska and Louisiana use the terms borough and parish respectively. A population center can be organized into a variety of incorporated municipalities, such as a village, town, or borough.
