Temperature-Arousing Self-Powered Fire Warning E-Textile Based on p–n Segment Coaxial Aerogel Fibers for Active Fire Protection in Firefighting Clothing

open access: yesNano-Micro Letters, 2023
Highlights The p–n segment thermoelectric aerogel fiber was fabricated through an alternating coaxial wet-spinning strategy. Resultant alternating p–n segment thermoelectric fiber was electrically connected in series (two p–n pairs with a length of 3 cm)

Hybrid WLAN-RFID Indoor Localization Solution Utilizing Textile Tag

open access: yesIEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2015
This letter presents a novel hybrid configuration for indoor positioning, utilizing the passive radio frequency identification (RFID) and wireless local area network (WLAN). Our architecture is based on a mobile device with a WLAN receiver, a textile RFID tag, and one or several RFID readers communicating with the mobile.

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

On a nonlinear partial differential algebraic system arising in technical textile industry: Analysis and numerics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper we explore a numerical scheme for a nonlinear fourth order system of partial differential algebraic equations that describes the dynamics of slender inextensible elastica as they arise in the technical textile industry.

Reduction of Oxide Inclusions During the High‐Frequency Welding of Steel via a Nonthermal Ar/H2 Plasma Jet

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...
