Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Persistence problems for additive functionals of one-dimensional Markov processes
In this article, we consider additive functionals $\zeta_t = \int_0^t f(X_s)\mathrm{d} s$ of a c\`adl\`ag Markov process $(X_t)_{t\geq 0}$ on $\mathbb{R}$.

Electronic couplings for photo-induced processes from subsystem time-dependent density-functional theory: The role of the diabatization [PDF]
Subsystem time-dependent density-functional theory (sTDDFT) making use of approximate non-additive kinetic energy (NAKE) functionals is known to be capable of describing excitation energy transfer processes in a variety of applications.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Effects of Applying Linear and Nonlinear Filters on Tests for Unit Roots with Additive Outliers [PDF]
Conventional univariate Dickey-Fuller tests tend to produce spurious stationarity when there exist additive outlying observations in the time series. Correct critical values are usually obtained by adding dummy variables to the Dickey-Fuller regression ...

Time-dependent density functional theory is one of the most widely used methods for the calculation of excited states of large molecules. However, it exhibits substantial problems with charge-transfer excited states when conventional exchange-correlation

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Occupation time problem for multifractional Brownian motion
In this paper, by using a Fourier analytic approach, we investigate sample path properties of the fractional derivatives of multifractional Brownian motion local times.
