Localized surface plasmon nanolithography with ultrahigh resolution

open access: yesOptics Express, 2007
A localized surface plasmon nanolithography (LSPN) technique is proposed and demonstrated to produce patterns with a sub-20nm line width. High transmission efficiency is realized by adjusting the period of grating. The well-regulated grating structures in metallic mask are employed to excite surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) on the illuminated side ...

Bifunctional Surfaces With Immobilized Antibodies and Bioactive Peptides Mediate Selective Capture and Proliferation of Endothelial Colony‐Forming Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A tunable bifunctional surface is developed by combining Fc‐binding peptides and RGD motifs to present oriented antibodies alongside integrin‐mediated signaling. The platform selectively captures endothelial colony‐forming cells while promoting their adhesion and proliferation.

Solar energy converter using surface plasma waves [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Sunlight is dispersed over a diffraction grating formed on the surface of a conducting film on a substrate. The angular dispersion controls the effective grating period so that a matching spectrum of surface plasmons is excited for parallel processing on

Localized surface plasmons in nanostructured monolayer black phosphorus [PDF]

open access: yes2016 IEEE Photonics Conference (IPC), 2016
Plasmonic materials provide electric-field localization and light confinement at subwavelength scales due to strong light-matter interaction around resonance frequencies. Graphene has been recently studied as an atomically thin plasmonic material for infrared and terahertz wavelengths.

Plasmonic Enhancement of Fluorescence and Protein Dynamics in Living Mammalian Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates plasmonic enhancement of the function of fluorescent voltage sensing proteins (genetically encoded voltage indicators, (GEVIs), QuasAr6) in live mammalian cells. Coupling to plasmonic nanoparticles does not just increase fluorescence, but influences the protein photocycle, creating a hybrid sensor with its response speed to ...

Multifunctional charge transfer plasmon resonance sensors

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2023
Charge transfer plasmon (CTP) modes arise when metallic nanoparticle dimers are connected by a conductive junction. This offers a unique opportunity to explore electron transport at optical frequencies as well as to attain narrow plasmon resonances that ...

Bioorthogonal Photoactivation of 2‐Nitrobenzyl Caged Doxorubicin Anticancer Prodrugs on Gold Nanostars

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bioorthogonal chemistry was applied to intracellularly photoactivate Doxorubicin (Dox) using gold nanostars (AuNSt) and near‐infrared (NIR) light. Two prodrugs were used: one photoactivatable, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl carbamate (proDox1) and another photolabile, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl diol (proDox2), which was attached to the AuNSt surface.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and
