Homogeneous locally compact groups with compact boundary [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1963
A locally compact group with compact boundary is a locally compact topological semigroup in which an open subgroup is dense and has a compact complement. These semigroups were studied in a previous paper whose results and notation are freely used in the present work [2].

Local uncertainty inequalities for locally compact groups [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1988
Let G G be a locally compact unimodular group equipped with Haar measure m m , G ^ \hat G its unitary dual and μ \mu the Plancherel measure (or something closely akin to it) on G ^ \hat G . When

On topological groups with remainder of character k

open access: yesApplied General Topology, 2016
In [A.V. Arhangel'skii and J. van Mill, On topological groups with a first-countable remainder, Top. Proc. 42 (2013), 157-163] it is proved that the character of a non-locally compact topological group with a first countable remainder doesn't exceed ...

Reduced spectral synthesis and compact operator synthesis

open access: yes, 2019
We introduce and study the notion of reduced spectral synthesis, which unifies the concepts of spectral synthesis and uniqueness in locally compact groups.

The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

Harmonic Synthesis on Group Extensions

open access: yesMathematics
Harmonic synthesis describes translation invariant linear spaces of continuous complex valued functions on locally compact abelian groups. The basic result due to L.

Positive answers to Koch’s problem in special cases

open access: yesTopological Algebra and its Applications, 2020
A topological semigroup is monothetic provided it contains a dense cyclic subsemigroup. The Koch problem asks whether every locally compact monothetic monoid is compact.

Interpolation sets and the size of quotients of function spaces on a locally compact group [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We devise a fairly general method for estimating the size of quotients between algebras of functions on a locally compact group. This method is based on the concept of interpolation sets and unifies the approaches followed by many authors to obtain ...

Sigma-Amenable Locally Compact Groups [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1971
Let G G denote a locally compact group and σ ( G ) \sigma (G) the semigroup of nonempty compact subsets of G G . The combinatorial properties of the family of all groups G G for which σ ( G ) \sigma (G) is

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.
