Reactive Interaction and Wetting of Fe‐ and Mn‐Containing, Secondary AlSi Alloys with Manganese Oxide Ceramic Filter Material for Fe Removal

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Fe‐ and Mn‐containing AlSi alloys undergo aluminothermic reaction with Mn oxide in sessile‐drop and crucible experiments forming poor‐wetting Al2O3 while Mn enriches in the alloy. Primary Fe‐containing particles are preferentially attached to the Mn oxide.

Microplate Active Migration Emerging From Light‐Induced Phase Transitions in a Nematic Liquid Crystal

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A quasi‐2D, light‐absorbing platelet embedded in a thermotropic nematic liquid crystal is activated with light irradiation. Depending on the light intensity, the platelet induces a localized nematic‐isotropic phase transition that triggers the motion. Using different confinements, the platelet can glide in a 2D regime or tilt and glide in a 3D regime ...

A Vertically‐Stacked Optoelectronic Sensor for Localized Hemodynamics Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a hemodynamics monitoring sensor that features vertically stacked microLEDs and a heterogeneously integrated photodetector. The vertically stacked microLEDs enable localized measurements, and by designing the interoptode distance according to the depth of the target region, this vertically stacked optoelectronic sensor is ...

The Space of Functions with Tempered Increments on a Locally Compact and Countable at Infinity Metric Space

open access: yesAxioms, 2021
The aim of the paper is to introduce the Banach space consisting of real functions defined on a locally compact and countable at infinity metric space and having increments tempered by a modulus of continuity.

Side‐Chains Engineered Self‐Assembly of Ortho‐Benzodipyrrole‐Based Acceptors: Comprehensive Exploration of Structure‐Interface‐Photovoltaics Correlations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The side‐chain configuration in the bay region of C‐shaped ortho‐benzodipyrrole‐based non‐fullerene acceptors plays a crucial role in their self‐assembly, single‐crystal structures, and optoelectronic properties. The closely correlated molecular structure and performance underscore the importance of minimizing A–A self‐aggregation and enhancing D–A ...

Free Subspaces of Free Locally Convex Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2018
If X and Y are Tychonoff spaces, let L(X) and L(Y) be the free locally convex space over X and Y, respectively. For general X and Y, the question of whether L(X) can be embedded as a topological vector subspace of L(Y) is difficult.

Properties of locally semi-compact Ir-topological groups

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2023
This study investigates some topological properties of locally semi-compact Ir-topological groups and establishes the relationship between Ir-topological groups and semi-compact spaces.

Computably Based Locally Compact Spaces [PDF]

open access: yesLogical Methods in Computer Science, 2006
ASD (Abstract Stone Duality) is a re-axiomatisation of general topology in which the topology on a space is treated, not as an infinitary lattice, but as an exponential object of the same category as the original space, with an associated lambda-calculus.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

On the Generalized Weighted Lebesgue Spaces of Locally Compact Groups

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2011
Let 𝐺 be a locally compact group with a fixed left Haar measure 𝜆 and Ω be a system of weights on 𝐺. In this paper, we deal with locally convex space 𝐿𝑝(𝐺,Ω) equipped with the locally convex topology generated by the family of norms (‖.‖𝑝,𝜔)𝜔∈Ω. We study
