An introduction to locally convex cones
This survey introduces and motivates the foundations of the theory oflocally convex cones which aims to generalize the well established theory of locally convex topological vector spaces. We explain the main concepts, provide definitions, principal results, examples and applications. For details and proofs we generally refer to the literature.

1165. Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench
Summary Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench (Compositae: Heliantheae: Zinniinae) is described and illustrated with a colour plate and black and white text figure. An introduction to the history of the appearance of this species in the Magazine appears in brief, together with comments on the treatment of the genus, and the available generic revisions.

Openness and continuity in locally convex cones
In this paper we define nearly continuity and nearly openness of linear operators between locally convex cones. Also we give some conditions on locally convex cones and linear operators which ensure that every nearly continuous (nearly open) mapping is continuous (open).

The hidden science of haptics: A pedagogical review of tactile evaluation in cosmetics
This review explores the physiological basis of tactile perception and critically examines classical and emerging sensory methods used in cosmetics, advocating for broader methodological integration and recognition of sensory analysis in the field. Abstract Sensory analysis is a cornerstone of cosmetic development, yet remains underrepresented in peer ...

Compactifications of moduli spaces inspired by mirror symmetry [PDF]
We study moduli spaces of nonlinear sigma-models on Calabi-Yau manifolds, using the one-loop semiclassical approximation. The data being parameterized includes a choice of complex structure on the manifold, as well as some ``extra structure'' described ...

Large scale detection of half-flats in CAT(0)-spaces
For a k-flat F inside a locally compact CAT(0)-space X, we identify various conditions that ensure that F bounds a (k+1)-dimensional half flat in X. Our conditions are formulated in terms of the ultralimit of X. As applications, we obtain (1) constraints

Abstract Four new species of the small‐sized armoured catfish genus Pareiorhina are described from mountain ranges in the Grande River drainage, upper Paraná River basin, based on morphological and molecular species delimitation methods. Molecular analyses based on the cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) marker recovered Pareiorhina as polyphyletic ...

A Note on Local Polynomial Regression for Time Series in Banach Spaces
ABSTRACT This work extends local polynomial regression to Banach space‐valued time series for estimating smoothly varying means and their derivatives in non‐stationary data. The asymptotic properties of both the standard and bias‐reduced Jackknife estimators are analyzed under mild moment conditions, establishing their convergence rates.

Stability in Locally Convex Lattice Cones
In this work, we start by recalling the essential definitions of locally convex lattice cones and the concept of stability for functional equations. Based on these preliminary notions, we establish a main theorem that provides sufficient conditions for stability within the framework of locally convex cones.

The fundamental theorem of asset pricing with and without transaction costs
Abstract We prove a version of the fundamental theorem of asset pricing (FTAP) in continuous time that is based on the strict no‐arbitrage condition and that is applicable to both frictionless markets and markets with proportional transaction costs. We consider a market with a single risky asset whose ask price process is higher than or equal to its ...
