On Location Privacy in LTE Networks
IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, 2017Location privacy is an ever increasing concern as the pervasiveness of computing becomes more ubiquitous. This is especially apparent at the intersection of privacy, convenience, and quality of service in cellular networks. In this paper, we show the long term evolution (LTE) signaling plane to be vulnerable to location-based attacks via the timing ...

Location Privacy Pricing and Motivation
2007 International Conference on Mobile Data Management, 2007This paper examines the results of our European-wide study on the price of location privacy of individuals using mobile phones. There were 1200 active participants from five EU countries in our experiment. We used tools from experimental psychology and economics to assess the value that users attach to their location data.

Locating Privacy: Geolocational Privacy from a Republican Perspective
This chapter outlines how a neo-republican theory of privacy can inform policy and scholarship related to location privacy and state surveillance based on the collection and processing of the geolocation data of individuals. It situates the location-related surveillance of the state, and the laws regulating these practices, within a republican critiqueopenaire +1 more source
Quantifying and Protecting Location Privacy
2013Recent developments in information and communication technologies have been profound and life-changing. Most people are now equipped with smart phones with high computation power and communication capabilities. These devices can efficiently run multiple software applications in parallel, store a non-negligible amount of (personal) user data, process ...

Location Privacy in Spatial Crowdsourcing
2018Spatial crowdsourcing (SC) is a new platform that engages individuals in collecting and analyzing environmental, social and other spatiotemporal information. With SC, requesters outsource their spatiotemporal tasks (tasks associated with location and time) to a set of workers, who will perform the tasks by physically traveling to the tasks' locations ...
