Location-Scale Matching for Approximate Quasi-Order Sampling [PDF]
Quasi-orders are reflexive and transitive binary relations and have many applications. Examples are the dependencies of mastery among the problems of a psychological test, or methods such as item tree or Boolean analysis that mine for quasi-orders in ...

Question: Which opportunities can merging geographic location data with Work Sampling (WS) data bring for construction management? Purpose: To identify which opportunities adding geographic information to the random observations made (named in this study as geo-located observations) can bring. Research Method: The authors presented the implementation

Location, Location, Location: Cytokine Concentrations Are Dependent on Blood Sampling Site [PDF]
Considerable breakthroughs in the field of sepsis have been made using animal models. Sepsis exhibits a wide array of derangements that may be evaluated in the blood, including the release of proinflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines. The Shock journal adheres to the ARRIVE guidelines regarding reporting in vivo results to allow reproducibility ...

Design-based inference in time-location sampling. [PDF]
Time-location sampling (TLS), also called time-space sampling or venue-based sampling is a sampling technique widely used in populations at high risk of infectious diseases. The principle is to reach individuals in places and at times where they gather.

Accommodating sampling location uncertainty in continuous phylogeography [PDF]
AbstractPhylogeographic inference of the dispersal history of viral lineages offers key opportunities to tackle epidemiological questions about the spread of fast-evolving pathogens across human, animal and plant populations. In continuous space, i.e.

Semiparametric location estimation under non‐random sampling [PDF]
We study a class of semiparametric skewed distributions arising when the sample selection process produces non‐randomly sampled observations. Based on semiparametric theory and taking into account the symmetric nature of the population distribution, we propose both consistent estimators, i.e. robust to model mis‐specification, and efficient estimators,

CONTROL BY SAMPLE LOCATION IN PIGEONS' MATCHING TO SAMPLE [PDF]
Three experiments assessed the impact of sample location in pigeons' matching to sample. Experiments 1 and 2 demonstrated that after line or hue identity matching was acquired to high levels of accuracy with center‐key samples, varying sample location across the three keys disrupted performances.

THE IMPACT OF SAMPLING FREQUENCY ON THE ACCURACY OF TRAVELLING WAVE-BASED FAULT PROTECTION METHODS
This paper investigates the impact of sampling frequency on the effectiveness of travelling wave-based fault detection and location in cases when the fault is very close to the relay location.

Latin Hypercube Sampling Method for Location Selection of Multi-Infeed HVDC System Terminal
Owing to the stochastic states of power systems with large-scale renewable generation, the impact of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems on the stability of the power system should be examined in a probabilistic manner.
