Locomotion.

Hospital management, 2002
Abstract Not all gastropods are slow moving. The pelagic species, such as the pteropod Clione, are strong swimmers that can swim at speeds up to 50 cm/second. However, the vast majority of gastropods locomote not by swimming, but by crawling, and they are indeed slow.

Fish Locomotion

2001
Fish locomotion shows the key features related to swimming. The functional anatomy of relevant parts is described. Species with special swimming skills are discussed. Kinematics of undulations of body and tail and swimming styles using paired and unpaired appendages are described.

Locomotion

2004
AbstractThis chapter provides an overview of the current knowledge on the mechanics and neural control of locomotion in the rat and outlines the methods available for measuring locomotor abilities in this species. Topics discussed include the mechanics of locomotion, neural control of locomotion, and measuring locomotion in the laboratory.
