Reinforcement of genetic coherence: a single-locus model
Genetic coherence and genetic separation are the outcome of evolutionary mechanisms which maintain genetic variation within populations through recombination on the one hand, and which divide this variation via speciation between reproductively (recombinatorically) more or less isolated populations on the other.

A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

A review on SNP and other types of molecular markers and their use in animal genetics
During the last ten years, the use of molecular markers, revealing polymorphism at the DNA level, has been playing an increasing part in animal genetics studies. Amongst others, the microsatellite DNA marker has been the most widely used, due to its easy

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Computing power of quantitative trait locus association mapping for haploid loci
Background Statistical power calculations are a critical part of any study design for gene mapping. Most calculations assume that the locus of interest is biallelic.

Genetic evaluation with finite locus models
The availability of genotypic data in recent years has resulted in increased interest in the use of marker assisted genetic evaluation (MAGE) in livestock species. Under additive inheritance, Henderson's mixed model equations (HMME) provide an efficient approach to obtain genetic evaluations by marker assisted best linear unbiased prediction (MABLUP ...
