Lvliang Typical Loess Landslide Mechanism and Characteristics
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011The loess area ecology environment is very fragile, happening various geological disasters, loess landslides is one of the most mainly the geological disasters in loess area. Lvliang region loess hilly develops common, with the human economic activities increasing, inducing a lot of loess landslides. Taking typical loess landslides as the main research

A Landslide Case Along a Loess Plateau
2013 Fourth International Conference on Digital Manufacturing & Automation, 2013The purpose of this paper is to present a landslide case along a high loess plateau by field investigation, laboratory tests and numerical analysis. The factors of the high loess slope terrain and environmental that induced the landslide are investigated.

Three modes of rainfall infiltration inducing loess landslide
Natural Hazards, 2015Rainfall infiltration depth in an integrated and homogeneous soil mass is extremely limited. How does rainfall infiltrate into a loess slope developed with various fractures and holes? How do infiltration mechanisms impact slope stability? These are issues this paper researched and discussed. Using the in situ monitoring and field investigation method,

Initiation Analysis of an Irrigation-Induced Loess Landslide
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012Underground water level rise because of irrigation has induced a lot of loess landslides in South Jingyang Plateau located in Shanxi Province, PR China. This paper presents a detailed initiation analysis of the landslides through field investigations, a series of GDS triaxial tests composed of isotropically and anisotropically consolidated undrained ...

Landslide disaster in the loess area of China
Journal of Forestry Research, 2002China is the country with most widely distributed loess area in the world, and its loess area accounts of 6.63% of total nation land area. The landslide disaster occurs frequently for complex natural condition and becomes major factors hindering the social and economic development of loess regions.

Controlling factors of loess landslides in western China
Environmental Earth Sciences, 2009Based on detailed field data from recent geo-hazards surveys in the Loess Plateau region of western China, this study analyzes the key factors that control loess landslides. The evolution phase of river valleys, the geological structure of slopes and the geometry of slopes are all found to play a role in determining the occurrence, distribution and ...

A recurrent composite loess landslide in southwestern China
Quarterly Journal of Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology, 2018A loess landslide occurred in southwestern China on 21 September 2016. The field investigation performed 2 months after this event revealed that this slope failure was a partial reactivation of a landslide initiated in 1995, with a first-time failure in 1975. This landslide has been triggered three times, each having a distinct mode.
