Engineered Protein‐Based Ionic Conductors for Sustainable Energy Storage Applications
Rational incorporation of charged residues into an engineered, self‐assembling protein scaffold yields solid‐state protein films with outstanding ionic conductivity. Salt‐doping further enhances conductivity, an effect amplified in the engineered variants. These properties enable the material integration into an efficient supercapacitor.

Beyond Log-Concavity: Theory and Algorithm for Sum-Log-Concave Optimization
Abstract This paper extends the classic theory of convex optimization to the minimization of functions that are equal to the negated logarithm of what we term as a sum-log-concave function, i.e., a sum of log-concave functions. In particular, we show that such functions are in general not convex but still satisfy generalized convexity ...

Photochemical Fuel Carrier Molecules for Robotic Embodied Energy
We designed a novel fuel carrier photoresponsive molecule for on‐demand energy storage and release. Carrier molecules undergo bond scission under UV light to release chemical fuel and locally generate propulsive Marangoni flows. We demonstrate this photochemical embodied energy strategy in small‐scale robots and active matter systems, enabling ...

On Multiple and Infinite Log-Concavity [PDF]
Following Boros--Moll, a sequence $(a_n)$ is $m$-log-concave if $\mathcal{L}^j (a_n) \geq 0$ for all $j = 0, 1, \ldots, m$. Here, $\mathcal{L}$ is the operator defined by $\mathcal{L} (a_n) = a_n^2 - a_{n - 1} a_{n + 1}$. By a criterion of Craven--Csordas and McNamara--Sagan it is known that a sequence is $\infty$-log-concave if it satisfies the ...

NIR‐Activated Ag2S Quantum Dots for Efficient Broad‐Spectrum Antibacterial and Biofilm Disruption
This study presents a novel non‐antibiotic strategy leveraging NIR‐activated Ag2S QDs for synergistic PTT/PDT. The platform degrades the protective extracellular matrix via localized hyperthermia, facilitating deep penetration and ROS‐induced oxidative damage.

Intermittency study of global solar radiation under a tropical climate: case study on Reunion Island
The arbitrary order Hilbert spectral analyses are applied to study the intermittency and multifractality of Global Horizonal Irradiation (GHI) based on one available high sampling rate of 1-year GHI records located at Saint-Denis (Moufia) over Reunion ...

On matrix-valued log-concavity and related Prekopa and Brascamp-Lieb inequalities
We propose a new, self-contained, approach to H. Raufi's extension of Prekopa's theorem for matrix-valued log-concave functions. Along the way, new related inequalities are established, in particular a Brascamp-Lieb variance inequality for matrix ...

Fast multivariate log-concave density estimation [PDF]
A novel computational approach to log-concave density estimation is proposed. Previous approaches utilize the piecewise-affine parametrization of the density induced by the given sample set. The number of parameters as well as non-smooth subgradient-based convex optimization for determining the maximum likelihood density estimate cause long runtimes ...
