Studying Short-Term and Long-Term Effects of OPEC Oil Basket Prices and Natural Gas on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Traded on Energy Exchange of Iran [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Management, Accounting and Economics, 2017
In this paper, we examine the short-term and long-term effects of OPEC oil basket prices and natural gas on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) traded on Energy Exchange of Iran.

Higher Order Stability of a Radiatively Induced 220 GeV Higgs Mass

open access: yes, 2005
The effective potential for radiatively broken electroweak symmetry in the single Higgs doublet Standard Model is explored to four sequentially subleading logarithm-summation levels (5-loops) in the dominant Higgs self-interaction couplant $\lambda$.

Logarithmic amplifiers [PDF]

open access: yesCytometry, 1990
AbstractLogarithmic amplifiers (log amps), which produce an output signal proportional to the logarithm of the input signal, are widely used in cytometry for measurements of parameters that vary over a wide dynamic range, e.g., cell surface immunofluorescence.

Adverse prognosis gene expression patterns in metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We aggregated a cohort of 1012 mCRPC tissue samples from 769 patients and investigated the association of gene expression‐based pathways with clinical outcomes. Loss of AR signaling, high proliferation, and a glycolytic phenotype were independently prognostic for poor outcomes, and an adverse transcriptional feature score incorporating these pathways ...

The lower envelope of positive self-similar Markov processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We establish integral tests and laws of the iterated logarithm for the lower envelope of positive self-similar Markov processes at 0 and $+\infty$. Our proofs are based on the Lamperti representation and time reversal arguments. These results extend laws

Two-Loop Polarization Contributions to Radiative-Recoil Corrections to Hyperfine Splitting in Muonium

open access: yes, 2001
We calculate radiative-recoil corrections of order $\alpha^2(Z\alpha)(m/M)E_F$ to hyperfine splitting in muonium generated by the diagrams with electron and muon polarization loops.

Plasma lipidomic and metabolomic profiles in high‐grade glioma patients before and after 72‐h presurgery water‐only fasting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

Recommendation for Pair-Wise Key Establishment Schemes Using Discrete Logarithm Cryptography

open access: yes, 2013
This note contains a response to the request for comments concerning NIST’s document in the title. We believe that the standards specified in this document need to be thoroughly revised to reflect the current knowledge and understanding of key ...

Computing the Fréchet Derivative of the Matrix Logarithm and Estimating the Condition Number

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 2013
The most popular method for computing the matrix logarithm is the inverse scaling and squaring method, which is the basis of the recent algorithm of Al-Mohy and Higham [SIAM J. Sci. Comput., 34 (2012), pp. C152--C169].
