On the discrete logarithm problem in elliptic curves II
We continue our study on the elliptic curve discrete logarithm problem over finite extension fields. We show, among others, the following results: For sequences of prime powers (qi)i∈N and natural numbers (ni)i∈N with ni −→ ∞ and ni log(qi) −→ 0 for i −→

AbstractThe issue of computing a real logarithm of a real matrix is addressed. After a brief review of some known methods, more attention is paid to three: (1) Padé approximation techniques, (2) Newton's method, and (3) a series expansion method. Newton's method has not been previously treated in the literature; we address commutativity issues, and ...

This study develops a semi‐supervised classifier integrating multi‐genomic data (1404 training/5893 validation samples) to improve homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) detection in breast cancer. Our method demonstrates prognostic value and predicts chemotherapy/PARP inhibitor sensitivity in HRD+ tumours.

Estimating Neuronal Information: Logarithmic Binning of Neuronal Inter-Spike Intervals
Neurons communicate via the relative timing of all-or-none biophysical signals called spikes. For statistical analysis, the time between spikes can be accumulated into inter-spike interval histograms.

The Logarithm Model of Development Power: A Tool to Analyze the Motivity of Economic Growth [PDF]
After the discussions to exponential and power model [F. Dai, 2005], this paper points out there are three kinds of basic modes in the macroeconomic process, i.e., the exponential, power and logarithm mode, and discusses the logarithm model of ...

We construct a proper moduli space which is a Deligne-Mumford stack parametrising quasimaps relative to a simple normal crossings divisor in any genus using logarithmic geometry. We show this moduli space admits a virtual fundamental class of the expected dimension leading to numerical invariants which agree with the theory of Battistella-Nabijou where
