Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

EXTENSION OF STARLIKE FUNCTIONS TO A FINITELY PUNCTURED PLANE

open access: yesПроблемы анализа, 2017
We consider a sequence of functions which are starlike in the unit disk and their logarithmic derivatives are meromorphic with a finite number of simple poles in any boundary domain.

Simpson Type Conformable Fractional Inequalities

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2022
In this study, a new Simpson type conformable fractional integral equality for convex functions is established. Based on this identity, some results related to Simpson-like type inequalities are obtained.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Exploring the Extended Beta-Logarithmic Function: Matrix Arguments and Properties

open access: yesMathematics
The beta-logarithmic function substantially generalizes the standard beta function, which is widely recognized for its significance in many applications.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Higher-order regularity in local and nonlocal quantum gravity

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2021
In the present work we investigate the Newtonian limit of higher-derivative gravity theories with more than four derivatives in the action, including the non-analytic logarithmic terms resulting from one-loop quantum corrections.

Decay and non-decay of the local energy for the wave equation in the De Sitter - Schwarzschild metric [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We describe an expansion of the solution of the wave equation in the De Sitter - Schwarzschild metric in terms of resonances. The main term in the expansion is due to a zero resonance.

The learning of logarithmic functions by 12th-grade students based on modelling tasks

open access: yesAlteridad : Revista de Educación, 2022
The relevance that the application of what is learned in Mathematics to everyday situations has in student learning has led us to develop an experiment on teaching the logarithmic function using modelling tasks.

Real‐World Performance of CSF Kappa Free Light Chains in the 2024 McDonald Criteria

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Kappa free light chains (KFLCs) in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) have a similar performance to CSF‐restricted oligoclonal bands (OCB) for multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis. To help with implementation, we set out to resolve several remaining uncertainties: (1) performance in a real‐world cohort and the 2024 McDonald criteria; (2 ...
