Logarithmic corrections to finite-size scaling in strips

open access: yesJournal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1986
Abstract The corrections to the finite-size scaling behaviour of the eigenvalues of the transfer matrix of a critical theory defined on an infinitely long strip of finite width, which occur when the Hamiltonian contains a marginal operator, are computed using conformal invariance. They show a calculable universal logarthmic character.

Axion dark matter from cosmic string network

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We perform lattice simulations to estimate the axion dark matter abundance radiated from the global cosmic strings in the post-inflationary scenario. The independent numerical confirmation on the recently observed logarithmic growth in both the number of

Extracting subleading corrections in entanglement entropy at quantum phase transitions

open access: yesSciPost Physics
We systematically investigate the finite size scaling behavior of the Rényi entanglement entropy (EE) of several representative 2d quantum many-body systems between a subregion and its complement, with smooth boundaries as well as boundaries with corners.

Effects of metronome walking on long-term attractor divergence and correlation structure of gait: a validation study in older people

open access: yesScientific Reports
This study investigates the effects of metronome walking on gait dynamics in older adults, focusing on long-range correlation structures and long-range attractor divergence (assessed by maximum Lyapunov exponents).

Fractal elements and topologies as a solution to the scalability of photonic neuromorphic processors

open access: yesФизика волновых процессов и радиотехнические системы
Background. Classical network topologies, such as the two-dimensional mesh, impose constraints on the scaling of photonic neuromorphic processors, leading to exponential growth of optical losses, a quadratic increase in occupied area, and a linear ...

Logarithmic Time Scale Recording of AEPs.

open access: yesAUDIOLOGY JAPAN, 1996

Marginal IR running of gravity as a natural explanation for dark matter

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
We propose that the infrared (IR) running of Newton’s coupling provides a simple and universal explanation for large–distance modifications of gravity relevant to dark matter phenomenology. Within the effective field theory (EFT) framework, we model G(k)

A Study on Logarithmic Scale Weighers

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society of Precision Engineering, 1965
Logarithmic scale weighers are advantageous for equalization of accuracy as per cent of true value and simultaneous indication of weight and cost. In this paper, the writer treats the following methods to get the logarithmic scale weighers by the application of (1) cam type detectors and (2) a linkage transformer with inclined lever detectors.

Enhancing Empirical Modal Extraction by Logarithmic Scaling and Normalization of Multi-Area Signal Measurements

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics
This paper presents a hierarchical scaling and normalization method to multi-area signal measurements that dynamically relates both the angular phase domain and its amplitude in empirical analysis of power system oscillations.

Efficient State Preparation for the Quantum Simulation of Molecules in First Quantization

open access: yesPRX Quantum
The quantum simulation of real molecules and materials is one of the most highly anticipated applications of quantum computing. Algorithms for simulating electronic structure using a first-quantized plane-wave representation are especially promising due ...
