Electropolymerized Aptasensor for Femtogram‐Level Cytokine Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Electropolymerization of 3‐amino‐ʟ‐tyrosine creates ultrathin, smooth, and chemically robust pALT nanofilms with accessible carboxyl functionalities for direct aptamer immobilization. Integrated with fiber‐optic SPR and OECT platforms, these interfaces enable IL‐6 detection down to 100 fg mL−1 and provide a versatile route to bioelectronic sensing ...

Ion Concentration and Voltage Imaging With Fluorescent Nanodiamonds

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate reversible switching between the fluorescent NV0 and the dark NV+ state, in sub‐30 nm FNDs via surface oxidation and hydrogenation, respectively. In an electrochemical cell, we show that the fluorescence from hydrogenated particles enables all‐optical imaging of voltages and ion concentrations at the micrometer scale.

Temporal sediment source tracing during storm events in the black soil region, Northeast China

open access: yesInternational Soil and Water Conservation Research
Sediment fingerprinting technology is widely used to differentiate sediment sources. However, despite its long-recognized benefits, there it has been seldom applied to assess the variability of sediment sources during storm events.

Directing Near‐Perfect (001) Orientation in Wafer‐Scale BiOI Thin Films via Halide‐Mediated van der Waals Stacking

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Our work introduces a new framework that fundamentally changes how orientation in bismuth oxyhalide systems is approached. Comprehensive experiments, backed by theoretical models, reveal the pivotal role of halide anions to modify the van der Waals stacking energies required to direct orientation. Our method enables the fabrication of near perfect (001)

The usability of open source software: analysis and prospects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Open source communities have successfully developed many pieces of software although most computer users only use proprietary applications. The usability of open source software is often regarded as one reason for this limited distribution. In this paper

Extreme Bond Ionicity in Mg─Te Chalcogenides for Ultrathin Low Voltage Selector‐Only Memory beyond the Leakage Scaling Limit

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Mg─Te chalcogenides address the leakage scaling trade‐off in ultrathin selector‐only memory. Structural partitioning in multiphase Mg─Te, combined with highly ionic Mg─Te bonding and Hf interfacial engineering, supports reliable 5 nm thickness operation at low write voltage with suppressed leakage current, narrow threshold voltage distributions, 10 ns ...

Propagation of noise generated by single moving sources in open area

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2016
The sound level (L) of noise generated by a single moving source (e.g. vehicle) is a starting point for the determination of the resultant level of noise emitted by sets of moving sources (e.g. streams of vehicles).

Local existence and finite time blow-up of solutions for a viscoelastic Kirchhoff-like plate equation with logarithmic source term

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis
In this paper, we study the initial-boundary value problem for a viscoelastic Kirchhoff-like plate equation with logarithmic source term. Based on the contraction mapping principle, we prove the local existence and uniqueness of solutions.

Volatile Memristive Devices With Tunable Temporal Dynamics For Event‐Based Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Tunable volatile memristive devices can serve various neural‐inspired tasks that require different time windows of information retention. The ionic‐based volatility of the presented Pt/a‐STO/TaOx/Ta device stack can be reproducibly and controllably tuned in multiple ways.
