A Class of Logarithmically Completely Monotonic Functions and the Best Bounds in the First Kershaw's Double Inequality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In the article, the logarithmically complete monotonicity of a class of functions involving the Euler’s gamma function are proved, a class of the first Kershaw type double inequalities are established, and the first Kershaw’s double inequality and ...

Logarithmically complete monotonicity of a power-exponential function involving the logarithmic and psi functions

open access: yesGlobal Journal of Mathematical Analysis, 2015
Let \(\Gamma\) and \(\psi=\frac{\Gamma'}{\Gamma}\) be respectively the classical Euler gamma function and the psi function and let \(\gamma=-\psi(1)=0.57721566\dotsc\) stand for the Euler-Mascheroni constant. In the paper, the authors simply confirm the logarithmically complete monotonicity of the power-exponential function \(q(t)=t^{t[\psi(t)-\ln t ...

Elastic–Plastic Modeling and Experimental Characterization of Granular Jamming Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Granular jamming enables rapid switching between soft and rigid mechanical states. Here, a reduced‐order elastic‐perfectly‐plastic beam framework captures pressure‐dependent loading, unloading, residual deformation, and hysteresis in jammed beams, while matching three‐point bending experiments across materials and geometries. The framework links design

An Adaptive Inhibitory WSe2 Transistor for Retinomorphic In‐Sensor Image Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conventional retinomorphic devices typically require deliberate gate‐bias tuning for each illumination condition. In this paper, we demonstrate an adaptive inhibitory WSe2 transistor that uses photo‐induced regime shift between the subthreshold and accumulation modes to achieve decision‐free, intensity‐adaptive image processing within a single pixel ...

Full‐Field Damage Monitoring in Architected Lattices Using In situ Electrical Impedance Tomography

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In situ electrical impedance tomography (EIT) turns 3D‐printed, CNT‐infused architected lattices into full‐field damage‐imaging systems. Tunable Voronoi‐based geometries act as active sensing architectures, enabling conductivity maps to detect early‐stage damage and localise sequential ligament fracture before catastrophic failure.

Complete monotonicity and logarithmically complete monotonicity properties for the gamma and psi functions

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2007
Recently, several authors have studied the monotonicity properties of functions such as \(\psi(x)= \Gamma'(x)/\Gamma(x)\,.\) See, for instance, [\textit{H. Alzer, C. Berg}, ``Some classes of completely monotonic functions. II.'' Ramanujan J. 11, 225--248 (2006; Zbl 1110.26015), \textit{N. Batir}, J. Math. Anal. Appl.

Unified Pressure and Field Response Across Distinct Charge‐Order Regimes in Ti‐Doped CsV3Sb5

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We microscopically investigate the interplay between charge order and superconductivity in a kagome superconductor across regimes of long‐ and short‐range charge order. Hydrostatic‐pressure and magnetic‐field μSR$\mu{\rm SR}$ measurements reveal remarkably similar superconducting and normal‐state time‐reversal‐symmetry‐breaking responses in both ...

A class of logarithmically completely monotonic functions related to the q-gamma function and applications [PDF]

open access: yesPositivity, 2016
In this paper, the logarithmically complete monotonicity property for a functions involving $q$-gamma function is investigated for $q\in(0,1).$ As applications of this results, some new inequalities for the $q$-gamma function are established. Furthermore, let the sequence $r_n$ be defined by $$n!=\sqrt{2πn}(n/e)^n e^{r_n}.$$ We establish new estimates ...

Life‐Like Ferrous Oxide Microspheres from Kombucha

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Kombucha bacterial cellulose, sodium alginate, and ferrous nitrate self‐assemble into membrane‐enclosed iron oxide microspheres. These microspheres bud daughter vesicles, sustain 24‐h electrochemical oscillations, and filter theta‐band signals.

Mapping Correlated Environmental Landscapes in the Fluorescence Response of a Pyrenylated Charge‐Transfer Probe via Data‐Driven Nonlinear Regression

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A pyrenylated donor–acceptor probe exhibits environment‐dependent fluorescence governed by intramolecular charge transfer, restricted molecular motion, and supramolecular organization. Nonlinear regression accurately reconstructs fluorescence responses to viscosity, temperature, concentration, and pH, while correlated parameter maps reveal hidden ...
