Abstract Paul Boghossian defends a meaning‐based approach to the apriority of the propositions of logic. His model is based on the idea that the logical constants are implicitly defined by some of the axioms and inference rules in which they are involved, thereby offering an alternative to those theories that deny that grasp of meaning ...

EPISTEMOLOGY OF LOGIC,Logic-Dialectic or Theory of Knowledge
Abstract This book presents the foundational principles and theoretical framework of Xenopoulos' theory. Epameinondas Xenopoulos' dialectical logic introduces a groundbreaking synthesis of philosophy, epistemology, and logic into a unified framework. By surpassing traditional divisions between disciplines, Xenopoulos emphasizes the dynamic interactionXenopoulos, Epameinondas +1 more

Logical foundations of knowledge representation. I

Logics of knowledge, games and dynamic logic
1984We study monotonic and non-monotonic Logics of Knowledge, giving decision procedures and completeness results. In particular we develop a model theory for a non-monotonic Logic of Knowledge and show that it corresponds exactly to normal applications of a non-monotonic rule of inference due to Mccarthy.

The Logical Antinomies of Knowledge
2014The critique of common knowledge of rationality (CKR) developed in the preceding chapters should convince researchers interested in explaining social reality to simply avoid the concept. The actual cost of abandoning CKR in terms of explaining social behavior is minimal because the Nash equilibrium concept itself is problematic when the recursive ...

The logic of probabilistic knowledge
Philosophical Studies, 2019Sarah Moss’ thesis that we have probabilistic knowledge is from some perspectives unsurprising and from other perspectives hard to make sense of. The thesis is potentially transformative, but not yet elaborated in sufficient detail for epistemologists.

Logic of Evidence-based Knowledge
2013This paper presents logics for reasoning about sound enough evidence and its relation to evidence and knowledge. The logic of sound enough evidence is based on van Benthem and Pacuit's evidence logic and Holliday's formalization of Nozick's tracking theory. And the newly defined knowledge based on sound enough evidence does not imply the evidence-based
