A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Mixed logical-linear programming

open access: yesDiscrete Applied Mathematics, 1999
Mixed logical/linear programming (MLLP) is an extension of mixed integer/linear programming (MILP). It can represent the discrete elements of a problem with logical propositions and provides a more natural modeling framework than MILP. It can also have computational advantages, partly because it eliminates integer variables when they serve no purpose ...

Hopfield Neural Networks for Online Constrained Parameter Estimation With Time‐Varying Dynamics and Disturbances

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper proposes two projector‐based Hopfield neural network (HNN) estimators for online, constrained parameter estimation under time‐varying data, additive disturbances, and slowly drifting physical parameters. The first is a constraint‐aware HNN that enforces linear equalities and inequalities (via slack neurons) and continuously tracks the ...

Synthesizing Recursive Logic Programs by Inverting General Resolution

open access: yesIEEE Access
A fundamental scalability restriction of most Inductive Logic Programming (ILP) systems is that they search syntactically defined program spaces and cannot utilize relations in data.

Strong Equivalence for LPMLN Programs [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science, 2019
LPMLN is a probabilistic extension of answer set programs with the weight scheme adapted from Markov Logic. We study the concept of strong equivalence in LPMLN, which is a useful mathematical tool for simplifying a part of an LPMLN program without ...

Extending Fuzzy Linguistic Logic Programming with Negation

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
Fuzzy linguistic logic programming (FLLP) is a framework for representation and reasoning with linguistically expressed human knowledge. In this paper, we extend FLLP by allowing negative literals to appear in rule bodies, resulting in normal logic ...

NFDI MatWerk Ontology (MWO): A BFO‐Compliant Ontology for Research Data Management in Materials Science and Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the NFDI‐MatWerk Ontology (MWO), a Basic Formal Ontology‐based framework for interoperable research data management in materials science and engineering (MSE). Covering consortium structures, research data management resources, services, and instruments, MWO enables semantic integration, Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and ...

Refactoring Logic Programs

open access: yes, 2003
Program changes take up a substantial part of the entire programming effort. Often a preliminary step of improving the design without altering the external behaviour can be recommended. This is the idea behind refactoring, a source-to-source program transformation that recently came to prominence in the OO-community [1].

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.
