Semantic and logical inference model for textual entailment [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the ACL-PASCAL Workshop on Textual Entailment and Paraphrasing - RTE '07, 2007
We compare two approaches to the problem of Textual Entailment: SLIM, a compositional approach modeling the task based on identifying relations in the entailment pair, and BoLI, a lexical matching algorithm. SLIM's framework incorporates a range of resources that solve local entailment problems.

Stable Model Semantics for Guarded Existential Rules and Description Logics: Decidability and Complexity [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the ACM, 2021
This work investigates the decidability and complexity of database query answering under guarded existential rules with nonmonotonic negation according to the classical stable model semantics. In this setting, existential quantification is interpreted via Skolem functions, and the unique name assumption is adopted.

Optimal models of disjunctive logic programs: semantics, complexity, and computation [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, 2004
Almost all semantics for logic programs with negation identify a set, SEM(P), of models of program P, as the intended semantics of P, and any model M in this class is considered a possible meaning of P with regard to the semantics the user has in mind. Thus, for example, in the case of stable models [M. Gelfond et al., (1988)], choice models [D.

Contextual Semantic-Guided Entity-Centric GCN for Relation Extraction

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
Relation extraction tasks aim to predict potential relations between entities in a target sentence. As entity mentions have ambiguity in sentences, some important contextual information can guide the semantic representation of entity mentions to improve ...

Ontology-Based Probabilistic Estimation for Assessing Semantic Similarity of Land Use/Land Cover Classification Systems

open access: yesLand, 2021
To accurately and formally represent the historical trajectory and present the current situation of land use/land cover (LULC), numerous types of classification standards for LULC have been developed by different nations, institutes, organizations, etc.;
