There is an unmet need in metastatic breast cancer patients to monitor therapy response in real time. In this study, we show how a noninvasive and affordable strategy based on sequencing of plasma samples with longitudinal tracking of tumour fraction paired with a statistical model provides valuable information on treatment response in advance of the ...

A logistic model of periodic chemotherapy
AbstractA logistic differential equation with a time-varying periodic parameter is used to model the growth of cells, in particular cancer cells, in the presences of chemotherapeutic drugs. The chemotherapeutic effects are modeled by a periodic parameter that modifies the growth rate of the cell tissue. A negative growth rate represents the detrimental

The analysis of longitudinal survey data is often complicated when informative sampling or nonignorable missing data exists. Existing methods that can handle both informative sampling and nonignorable missing data are only limited to the situation of no

Logistic wavelets and logistic function: An application to model the spread of SARS-CoV-2 virus infections [PDF]
In the present paper, we model the cumulative number of persons reported to be infected by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, in a country or a region, by a sum of logistic functions. For a given logistic function, using Eulerian numbers, we find the zeros of its successive derivatives and their relationship with the saturation level of this function.

Estimation of the parameters of a stochastic logistic growth model [PDF]
We consider a stochastic logistic growth model involving both birth and death rates in the drift and diffusion coefficients for which extinction eventually occurs almost surely.

Abstract Purpose To assess the predictive capability of CT radiomics features for early recurrence (ER) of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Methods Postoperative PDAC patients were retrospectively selected, all of whom had undergone preoperative CT imaging and surgery. Both patients with resectable or borderline‐resectable pancreatic cancer met

A descriptive and validation study of a predictive model of severity of SARS-COV-2 infection
The strain the SARS-COV-2 pandemic is putting on hospitals requires that predictive values are identified for a rapid triage and management of patients at a higher risk of developing severe COVID-19. We developed and validated a prognostic model of COVID-
