Logistic regression with an auxiliary data source [PDF]
To achieve good generalization in supervised learning, the training and testing examples are usually required to be drawn from the same source distribution. In this paper we propose a method to relax this requirement in the context of logistic regression.

A Chemotaxis System with Logistic Source
Communications in Partial Differential Equations, 2007This paper deals with a nonlinear system of two partial differential equations arising in chemotaxis, involving a source term of logistic type. The existence of global bounded classical solutions is proved under the assumption that either the space dimension does not exceed two, or that the logistic damping effect is strong enough.

Boundedness in a quasilinear chemotaxis‐haptotaxis system with logistic source [PDF]
This paper studies the chemotaxis‐haptotaxis system with nonlinear diffusion urn:x-wiley:mma:media:mma4216:mma4216-math-0001 subject to the homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions and suitable initial conditions, where χ, ξ and μ are positive constants, and (n⩾2) is a bounded and smooth domain.

International sourcing and logistics: an integrated model
Logistics Information Management, 1999Billions of dollars are being poured into developing nations by multinationals as part of their diversification, divestiture, facility location, and supplier selection strategies. By integrating the literature in international business, marketing, purchasing, and operations management, a contingency model is developed to minimize the overall costs of ...

Logistics of low cost country sourcing
International Journal of Logistics Research and Applications, 2010Increasing globalisation creates new possibilities for sourcing from low cost countries (LCC), but also comes with a range of logistics challenges and issues to be dealt with. The purpose of this paper is to investigate how logistics and its impacts are considered in LCC sourcing decisions.

Biomass Sourcing and Logistics: From Theory to Practice
International Journal of Chemical Reactor Engineering, 2010Renewable raw materials are increasingly utilized as primary energy or converted to solid, gaseous or liquid secondary fuels. Biomass sourcing and logistics is a key consideration when striving to successful industrial scale operation. Many studies in theory show sufficient biomass potentials and also address logistics.

An attraction‐repulsion chemotaxis system with logistic source
ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 2015This paper deals with the attraction‐repulsion chemotaxis system with logistic source urn:x-wiley:00442267:media:zamm201400311:zamm201400311-math-0001under homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions in a smooth bounded domain . Under a growth restriction on logistic source and suitable assumptions on the positive parameters χ, ξ, α, β, γ and δ, we show ...

Knowledge source network configuration approach to knowledge logistics
International Journal of General Systems, 2003Today multidisciplinary real-world problem solving requires an intensive knowledge integration and exchange between participants of the global information environment. Along with a large number of available distributed knowledge sources (KSs) this has led to the appearance of a new direction in knowledge management called knowledge logistics (KL).

A diffusive logistic equation with concentrated and nonlocal sources
Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 2017In this paper, we study a reaction‐diffusion equation where nonlinear memory and concentration effects are considered at the same time. We are specially concerned with the local solvability of this problem for singular initial data in Lebesgue spaces. We also analyze the vanishing concentration problem and prove a blow‐up alternative.

Logistics Issues in International Sourcing: An Exploratory Study
International Journal of Purchasing and Materials Management, 1994Logistics problems have been identified as the biggest obstacle facing U.S. businesses in international sourcing. However, neither the purchasing nor the logistics literature contains much information on logistical considerations in global sourcing. This article presents the results of an exploratory study designed to learn about selected logistics ...
