Expected Length of the Shortest Path of the Traveling Salesman Problem in 3D Space

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation, 2022
Finding the shortest path of the traveling salesman problem (TSP) is a typical NP-hard problem and one of the basic optimization problems. TSP in three-dimensional space (3D-TSP) is an extension of TSP. It plays an important role in the fields of 3D path

Detecting homologous recombination deficiency for breast cancer through integrative analysis of genomic data

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study develops a semi‐supervised classifier integrating multi‐genomic data (1404 training/5893 validation samples) to improve homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) detection in breast cancer. Our method demonstrates prognostic value and predicts chemotherapy/PARP inhibitor sensitivity in HRD+ tumours.

Nonlinear Autoregressive Approach to Estimating Logistic Model Parameters of Urban Fractal Dimension Curves [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
A time series of fractal dimension values of urban form can form a fractal dimension curve and reflects urban growth. In many cases, the fractal dimension curves of cities can be modeled with logistic function, which in turn can be used to make prediction analysis and stage division studies of urban evolution.

Landscape of BRAF transcript variants in human cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We investigate the annotation of BRAF variants, focusing on protein‐coding BRAF‐220 (formerly BRAF‐reference) and BRAF‐204 (BRAF‐X1). The IsoWorm pipeline allows us to quantify these variants in human cancer, starting from RNA‐sequencing data. BRAF‐204 is more abundant than BRAF‐220 and impacts patient survival.

Maritime Logistics

open access: yes, 2016
In the literature, mostly, under the heading of maritime logistics, classical sea transportation issues have been studied. In actual fact, with broader scope, maritime logistics is a different field under the logistics theme and sea transportation is just one of the functions that must be carried effectively and in an integrated manner with other ...

Logistic Regression as Soft Perceptron Learning [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
We comment on the fact that gradient ascent for logistic regression has a connection with the perceptron learning algorithm. Logistic learning is the "soft" variant of perceptron learning.

Lost in the Logistical Funhouse: Speculative Design as Synthetic Media Enterprise [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
From the deployment of chatbots as procurement negotiators by corporations such as Walmart to autonomous agents providing 'differentiated chat' for managing overbooked flights, synthetic media are making the world of logistics their 'natural' habitat.

Novel CT radiomics models for the postoperative prediction of early recurrence of resectable pancreatic adenocarcinoma: A single‐center retrospective study in China

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To assess the predictive capability of CT radiomics features for early recurrence (ER) of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Methods Postoperative PDAC patients were retrospectively selected, all of whom had undergone preoperative CT imaging and surgery. Both patients with resectable or borderline‐resectable pancreatic cancer met

Transport Logistics: Redefining Logistics in Transport

open access: yesJournal of South Asian Logistics and Transport, 2021
The terms Transport and Logistics have historically been used independently of one another. While the meaning of transport relates to the critical function of providing mobility, the understanding of logistics varies sharply between its different application contexts, from Military Logistics in early stages to its current application in Supply Chains ...
