A Walkthrough for the Principle of Logit Separation
Proceedings of the Twenty-Eighth International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2019We consider neural network training, in applications in which there are many possible classes, but at test-time, the task is a binary classification task of determining whether the given example belongs to a specific class. We define the Single Logit Classification (SLC) task: training the network so that at test-time, it would be possible to ...

Multinomial Logit Specification Tests
International Economic Review, 1985This paper considers tests of the multinomial logit (MNL) model against unspecified alternative models. The test we propose avoids both the asymptotic bias of the likelihood ratio test originally suggested by \textit{D. McFadden}, \textit{K. Train} and \textit{W. Tye} [An application of diagnostic tests for the independence from irrelevant alternatives

Two convenient classifications for variables which are not amenable to treatment by the principal tool of econometrics, regression analysis, are quantal responses and limited responses. In the quantal response (all or nothing) category are dichotomous, qualitative and categorical outcomes, and the methods of analysis identified as probit and logit are ...

We describe logit dynamics, which are used to model bounded rationality in games, and their related equilibrium concept, the logit equilibrium. We also present some results about the convergence time of these dynamics and introduce a suitable approximation of the logit equilibrium.
