Multi‐Tissue Genetic Regulation of RNA Editing in Pigs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents the first multi‐tissue map of RNA editing and its genetic regulation in pigs. By integrating RNA editing profiles, edQTL mapping, GWAS, and cross‐species comparisons, this work establishes RNA editing as a distinct regulatory layer linking genetic variation to complex traits, highlighting its functional and evolutionary significance.

Predicting Corporate Failure: The GRASP-LOGIT Model || Predicción de la quiebra empresarial: el modelo GRASP-LOGIT

open access: yesRevista de Métodos Cuantitativos para la Economía y la Empresa, 2018
Predicting corporate failure is an important problem in management science. This study tests a new method for predicting corporate failure on a sample of Spanish firms.

Modeling repeated ordinal responses using a family of power transformations: application to neonatal hypothermia data

open access: yesBMC Medical Research Methodology, 2005
Background For analyzing a repeated ordinal response, it is common to use a multivariate cumulative logit model. This model may fit poorly, especially when a nonsymmetric response is available.

Structure‐Dependent Resonant Frequency Engineering of Textile Tactile Sensors Toward Rapid and Precise Braille Recognition Surpassing Human Sensation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A resonant frequency engineering strategy is proposed to modulate the sensibility of piezoresistive textile‐based tactile sensor. It achieves simultaneous detection of static pressure and dynamic vibrations across an unprecedented bandwidth of 5–600 Hz, surpassing human sensation, therefore enables rapid and precise braille recognition.

Unobserved Heterogeneity in the Binary Logit Model with Cross-Sectional Data and Short Panels: A Finite Mixture Approach [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper proposes a new approach to dealing with unobserved heterogeneity in applied research using the binary logit model with cross-sectional data and short panels.

Regional valuation of infrastructure improvements. The case of Swedish road freight [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Is it possible to identify regional differences among shippers in their valuation of infrastructure improvements? The question is analysed within a random utility approach where parameters are estimated by a logit model. Data consists of a Swedish stated

Non‐Volatile Phase Modulation with Ultralow Energy Consumption Enabled by 2D Ferroelectric/TMD Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a hybrid WS2/CuInP2S6/graphene heterostructure integrated on a silicon nitride microring resonator for non‐volatile optical phase modulation with ultra‐low energy consumption and low insertion loss. While CIPS alone does not provide efficient optical index modulation, the engineered proposed device structure converts ferroelctric domain ...

Models for Ordered Categorical Variables: An Application [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Interdisciplinary Sciences
Ordered logit and ordered probit models, commonly used ordered categorical variable models, are used when the dependent variable is categorical and ordered.

Prediction of Structural Stability of Layered Oxide Cathode Materials: Combination of Machine Learning and Ab Initio Thermodynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, we developed a phase‐stability predictor by combining machine learning and ab initio thermodynamics approaches, and identified the key factors determining the favorable phase for a given composition. Specifically, a lower TM ionic potential, higher Na content, and higher mixing entropy favor the O3 phase.

Comparing methods for risk prediction of multicategory outcomes: dichotomized logistic regression vs. multinomial logit regression

open access: yesBMC Medical Research Methodology
Background Medical outcomes of interest to clinicians may have multiple categories. Researchers face several options for risk prediction of such outcomes, including dichotomized logistic regression and multinomial logit regression modeling.
