The Lognormal Distribution Is Characterized by Its Integer Moments
The lognormal moment sequence is considered. Using the fractional moments technique, it is first proved that the lognormal has the largest differential entropy among the infinite positively supported probability densities with the same lognormal-moments.

Estimation of the Lognormal Distribution Function [PDF]
Minimum variance unbiased estimates of the lognormal distribution with parameters µ and σ² are given for all possible cases: when σ² is known, when µ is known and when both µ and σ² are unknown.

Beyond Zipf's Law: The Lavalette Rank Function and Its Properties. [PDF]
Although Zipf's law is widespread in natural and social data, one often encounters situations where one or both ends of the ranked data deviate from the power-law function.

Dendritic spines are crucial for excitatory synaptic transmission as the size of a spine head correlates with the strength of its synapse. The distribution of spine head sizes follows a lognormal-like distribution with more small spines than large ones ...

The Truncated Lognormal Distribution as a Luminosity Function for SWIFT-BAT Gamma-Ray Bursts
The determination of the luminosity function (LF) in Gamma ray bursts (GRBs) depends on the adopted cosmology, each one characterized by its corresponding luminosity distance.

The mathematical formula of the intravaginal ejaculation latency time (IELT) distribution of lifelong premature ejaculation differs from the IELT distribution formula of men in the general male population [PDF]
Purpose: To find the most accurate mathematical description of the intravaginal ejaculation latency time (IELT) distribution in the general male population. Materials and Methods: We compared the fitness of various well-known mathematical distributions

On a Property of the Lognormal Distribution [PDF]
SUMMARY In this paper it is established that the lognormal distribution is not determined by its moments. Some brief comments are made on the set of distributions having the same moments as a lognormal distribution.
