Life Cycle Consumption and Portfolio Choice Under Real Interest Rate Risk
ABSTRACT We set up a life cycle model with real interest rate risk to demonstrate that real interest rates have implications for optimal household consumption and investments. Lower interest rates lead to higher optimal stock investments and lower consumption.

Investigating the Dynamics of Sex‐Structured Stock Assessment Models Under Sexual Size Dimorphism
ABSTRACT The integration of separate sexes in stock assessment models represents an advancement towards more realistic modeling of interactions between fisheries and target species. However, increased model complexity can also introduce additional uncertainty into the modeling process.

Population‐Level Real‐World Healthcare Costs in Men and Women With Haemophilia A
ABSTRACT Introduction Even with modern prophylaxis options, people living with haemophilia have significantly lower quality of life and joint health outcomes than those without. Aim Our goal was to determine if real‐world health‐system costs are higher for people living with haemophilia A compared to those without and determine how joint‐health state ...

Social Status, Inequality, and Redistribution
ABSTRACT We explore implications of social status concerns for redistribution, income inequality, and growth in a political economy framework. Salience of such concerns leads to a propagation mechanism, whereby initial income inequality and reduced willingness to redistribute income reinforce each other, potentially giving rise to multiple steady ...

The Causal Effect of Parents' Education on Children's Earnings
ABSTRACT We develop and estimate a model of endogenous schooling and earnings to isolate the causal effect of parents' education on children's outcomes. Identification uses earnings differences among children with equal schooling whose parents have different schooling.

Genetic Determination of Maternal Behaviour in Pigs
ABSTRACT In sows, maternal behaviour is a commercially important trait which affects sow and piglet welfare and the quality and safety of human‐animal interactions, especially if free farrowing of sows without crates is in place. The aim of this study was to evaluate maternal behaviour and to estimate its quantitative genetic parameters in Swiss ...

Bayesian analysis of a generalized lognormal distribution
Many data arising in reliability engineering can be modeled by a lognormal distribution. Empirical evidences from many sources support this argument. However, sometimes the lognormal distribution does not completely satisfy the fitting expectations in ...

ABSTRACT Methyl salicylate (MeSA) is an herbivore‐induced plant volatile (HIPV) known to attract natural enemies of herbivores; however, its effectiveness as a semiochemical across diverse cropping systems and broad geographic regions remains unclear. In this 2‐year field study, we sampled natural enemies using MeSA‐baited and unbaited (control) yellow
