The Log of Gravity [PDF]

open access: yesThe Review of Economics and Statistics, 2003
AbstractAlthough economists have long been aware of Jensen's inequality, many econometric applications have neglected an important implication of it: under heteroskedasticity, the parameters of log-linearized models estimated by OLS lead to biased estimates of the true elasticities.

On log motives [PDF]

open access: yesTunisian Journal of Mathematics, 2020
We define the categories of log motives and log mixed motives. The latter gives a new formulation for the category of mixed motives. We prove that the former is a semisimple abelian category if and only if the numerical equivalence and homological equivalence coincide, and that it is also equivalent to that the latter is a Tannakian category.

The Meaning of Logs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
While logging events is becoming increasingly common in computing, in communication and in collaborative environments, log systems need to satisfy increasingly challenging (if not conflicting) requirements. In this paper we propose a high-level framework for modeling log systems, and reasoning about them.

Modeling of suspended sediment concentrations by artificial neural network and adaptive neuro fuzzy interference system method–study of five largest basins in Eastern Algeria

open access: yesWater Practice and Technology, 2022
Prediction of suspended sediment concentrations (SSC) in arid and semi-arid areas has aroused increasing interest in recent years because of its primary role in water resources planning and management.

Chiral logs with staggered fermions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We compute chiral logarithms in the presence of "taste" symmetry breaking of staggered fermions. The lagrangian of Lee and Sharpe is generalized and then used to calculate the logs in $\pi$ and $K$ masses. We correct an error in Ref. [1] [C. Bernard, hep-

Understanding the predictability of user demographics from cyber-physical-social behaviours in indoor retail spaces

open access: yesEPJ Data Science, 2018
Understanding the association between customer demographics and behaviour is critical for operators of indoor retail spaces. This study explores such an association based on a combined understanding of customer Cyber (online), Physical, and (some aspects
