Liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHC): Concept evaluation and techno-economics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHC) are a promising solution for the efficient and safe storage and transportation of hydrogen, which have been the main hurdles for the realization of the hydrogen economy. The idea is to bind hydrogen to liquids from which hydrogen can be released reversibly returning the carrier liquid to its original state ready ...

Solvent-Free Hydrogenation and Dehydrogenation of Quinoline and Quinaldine for the LOHC Concept

open access: yesACS Omega
As presented herein, N-heterocyclic quinoline (Q) and quinaldine (MeQ) represent promising liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHCs). They can be quantitatively hydrogenated to tetrahydro (TH) forms under mild reaction conditions (100 °C and 10 bar of H2) using Pt/C and Pd/C catalysts.

Incidence of late-onset hemorrhagic cystitis and its effect on PFS in acute leukemia patients after haplo-PBSCT: The 5-year single-center data

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2022
We conducted a single-center 5-year retrospective study on the occurrence of hemorrhagic cystitis (HC) and its effect on survival after haploid high-dose peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (haplo-PBSCT) in patients with acute leukemia.

Risks from Hydrogen Carriers-safety Characteristics of the LOHC System Toluene/methylcyclohexane

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions
Reversible liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHCs) seem to be a promising solution for the transportation of hydrogen. Since no pressure or cooling needs to be applied during the transport, it is considered easier, safer and cheaper compared to ...

Risk factors for late-onset hemorrhagic cystitis after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation: analysis of 227 cases

open access: yesDi-san junyi daxue xuebao, 2021
Objective To analyze the risk factors of late-onset hemorrhagic cystitis (LOHC) after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). Methods We retrospectively analyzed 227 patients who underwent allo-HSCT in our hospital from 2016 to ...

Concept for Temperature-Cascade Hydrogen Release from Organic Liquid Carriers Coupled with SOFC Power Generation

open access: yesCell Reports Physical Science, 2020
Summary: For a sustainable hydrogen economy, large-scale transportation and storage of hydrogen becomes increasingly important. Typically, hydrogen is compressed or liquified, but both processes are energy intensive.

Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers Applied on Methane–Hydrogen-Fueled Internal Combustion Engines: A Preliminary Analysis of Process Heat Balance

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
One of the main issues that has limited the use of hydrogen as an energy vector for a long time is its low energy density per unit of volume. Alternative chemical storage methods have been developed in recent years to overcome the limitations associated ...
