Stickstoffausnutzungsvermögen von Lolium perenne und Lolium multiflorum‐Sorten
Journal of Agronomy and Crop Science, 1988Abstract Selection for improved nitrogen‐utilization in Lolium In a 3‐year study the responses of 14 Lolium perenne‐varieties and 14 of Lolium multiflorum to different nitrogen fertilization (75, 150, 300 kg N/ha) were investigated. The varieties were classificated into four types of nitrogen utilization. “Low input varieties” can be found in type III.

Tetraploid Induction in Lolium multiflorum
2018The induction of tetraploids from diploid cultivars of L. multiflorum is important in improving the germplasm. The aim of the study is to investigate the optimal concentration and time duration to induce tetraploids from diploid cultivars of L. multiflorum.

Investigating the mechanisms of glyphosate resistance in Lolium multiflorum
Planta, 2007Evolved resistance to the herbicide glyphosate has been reported in eleven weed species, including Lolium multiflorum. Two glyphosate-resistant L. multiflorum populations were collected, one from Chile (SF) and one from Oregon, USA (OR), and the mechanisms conferring glyphosate resistance were studied.

Tetraploid Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.)
Euphytica, 19581. Some preliminary experiments are described with C2- and C3-generations of tetraploid Italian ryegrass. In all cases the tetraploids had a lower dry matter content than the diploids. 2. A C3-generation produced by mass selection equalled or surpassed the diploid mother strains in dry matter yield in some small experiments on several ...

Isolation, Culture and Regeneration of Lolium Perenne and Lolium Multiflorum Protoplasts
1988For the application of most genetic manipulation techniques a reliable system for plant regeneration from single cells and protoplasts is a prerequisite. In the Gramineae plant regeneration from protoplasts has been achieved only when morphogenically competent cell suspensions were used for protoplast isolation.

Production of Self-Fertile Interspecific Hybrids Between Lolium temulentum × Lolium multiflorum
2010Three F1 hybrids plants between Lolium temulentum L. (Ba3081) and a genotype of L. multiflorum Lam., generated by embryo rescue technique, were proved to be interspecific hybrids (F1) by analysis with SSR markers for Italian ryegrass (Hirata et al., 2006).

«Ridotta attività» di glifosate su Lolium multiflorum
2022La prova svolta nel 2022 in un meleto in Trentino conferma la mancata efficacia di glifosate su L. multiflorum segnalata da un frutticoltore al dosaggio comunemente utilizzato da alcuni decenni. Bisogna tenere sotto controllo l’evoluzione di questa problematica per prevenire e contenere la diffusione del fenomeno della mancata efficacia dei ...

Origin of Westerwolths ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum westerwoldicum)
Euphytica, 1955In the past century, all the grass seed required for the Netherlands was imported. About 1900, however, the seed production of the annual Westerwolths ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum westerwoldicum) was introduced. The local variety was probably obtained by harvesting seed producing plants from Italian ryegrass, sown in spring and sowing again in the next

Potential of Tetraploid × Festulolium (Festuca Pratensis × Lolium Multiflorum)
1994For over 30 years a number of efforts have been made to utilize interspecific and intergeneric hybrids of the Lolium-Festuca complex in grass forage breeding. These hybrids, which combine complementary characters of the parental species, often offer excellent potential for producing new valuable grasses. In the Lolium-Festuca complex it is attempted to
