Fungal endophyte infection changes growth attributes in Lolium multiflorum Lam

Austral Ecology, 2005
Abstract Lolium multiflorumis a successful invader of postagricultural succession in the Inland Pampa grasslands in Argentina, becoming a dominant species in the plant community. Individual plants of this annual species are naturally highly infected with fungal endophytes (Neotyphodiumsp.) from early successional stages.

Mechanism of diclofop resistance in an Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) biotype

Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, 1992
Abstract The biochemical basis for diclofop resistance in an Italian ryegrass ( Lolium multiflorum Lam.) biotype discovered in Oregon was examined. Herbicide rates that inhibited shoot growth by 50% (GR 50 values) were determined for two aryloxyphenoxypropionic acid herbicides (diclofop, haloxyfop) and one cyclohexanedione herbicide (sethoxydim ...

The Interdependence of Tillers inLolium multiflorumLam.—a Quantitative Assessment

Journal of Experimental Botany, 1968
Experiments were made to determine the extent of reciprocal transfer of products (derived from the assimilation of 14C02) between various parts of the young vegetative grass plant (Lolium multiflorum Lam.). When individual laminae on different tillers were supplied with 14C02, 47-64 per cent of the fixed carbon was exported after 24 h.

Salinity and pH stress on Lolium multiflorum Lam. germination

2013
Direct spreading on agricultural lands of olive mill wastewaters (OMWs) may represent an environmentally friendly disposal method. In the olive oil-producing Mediterranean regions OMWs spreading on soil represents a simple and cheap alternative to detoxification techniques that result in final waste discharge into natural water bodies (Barbera et al ...

Identification of genetic loci for seed shattering in Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.)

Theoretical and Applied Genetics
We have identified a unique genetic locus for seed shattering in Italian ryegrass that has an exceedingly large effect and shows partial dominance for reduced seed shattering. Genetic improvement of seed retention in forage grasses can contribute to improving their commercial seed production. The objective of this study was to identify the genetic loci

PLONOWANIE NASIENNE ŻYCICY WIELOKWIATOWEJ (LOLIUM MULTIFLORUM LAM.) W WARUNKACH POLSKI CENTRALNEJ

Fragmenta Agronomica, 2018
Celem badań była ocena plonowania nasiennego odm. Koga życicy wielokwiatowej (westerwoldzkiej) oraz określenie zależności pomiędzy plonem nasion a liczbą pędów generatywnych i cechami biometrycznymi kwiatostanu. Badania przeprowadzono w latach 2008–2009 na plantacji nasiennej w środkowej części województwa łódzkiego.

QTL analysis of lodging resistance and related traits in Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.)

Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 2004
Italian ryegrass ( Lolium multiflorum Lam.) is the most widely cultivated annual forage grass in Japan. Lodging damage reduces both harvested yield and forage quality. To identify the chromosomal regions controlling lodging resistance in Italian ryegrass, we analyzed seven quantitative characters--heading date, plant height, culm weight, culm diameter,
