Trained local people are capable to conduct bird monitoring and generates useful data for testing ecological hypotheses related to anthropogenic impact. Chagas disease (American Trypanosomiasis) is caused by the protozoan Trypanosoma cruzi. Worldwide it is one of the seventeen neglected tropical diseases. There is a need of new drugs.
