In-plane London penetration depth of superconductors with mixed-symmetry order parameters
Physical Review B, 1998We study the low-temperature variation of the London penetration depth ${\ensuremath{\lambda}}_{L}(T)$ in superconductors having a mixed-symmetry order parameter. Two specific cases are considered: the $s+d$ and the $s+id$ symmetry, where the $d$-wave part of the order parameter is assumed to be of ${d}_{{x}^{2}\ensuremath{-}{y}^{2}}$ symmetry. We find

Abstract It is demonstrated that in the case of the YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7 superconductor the crossover parameter between the 3D and 2D regimes of the paraconductivity temperature dependence is determined by the c -axis unit cell parameter and not by the interlayer distances.

London plane tree (Platanus acerifolia Willd.) is an important tree in urban landscaping but it suffers from a number of negative traits which genetic engineering could be used to address. As with many woody species, P. acerifolia has appeared recalcitrant to genetic transformation.

Regrowth Response of London Plane Injected with Dikegulac at Different Stages of Tree Development
Arboriculture & Urban Forestry, 1984Three-year-old London plane (Platanus acerfolia) trees pruned at 5 different stages of plant development were injected with dikegulac [2,3:4,6-bis-0)1-methylethylidene)- 0(-L-xylo-2-hexulorfuranosonic acid)]. At the end of the growing season, sprout length, number of new sprouts, and phytotoxicity were determined.

Erysiphe platanicausing powdery mildew of London plane in Hungary
Acta Phytopathologica et Entomologica Hungarica, 2008This is the first record of Erysiphe platani on London plane (Platanus × hispanica) trees in Hungary. Photographic documentation and description of the morphology of both the anamorph and the teleomorph stages of this fungus are provided in this paper.
