Clinical Validation of Plasma p‐217tau in Neurological Diseases

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Plasma p‐217tau is a minimally invasive but specific biomarker for diagnosing Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, its disease specificity remains to be clinically evaluated. We validated the reliability of the p‐217tau biomarker in 12 other neurological diseases.

A non-separable stochastic model for pulse-like ground motions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A phenomenological non-separable non-stationary stochastic model is proposed to represent near-fault pulse-like ground motions (PLGMs) by means of a parametrically defined evolutionary power spectrum (EPSD). Numerical data pertaining to ensembles of EPSD

Seismological Aspects of the December 2004 Great Sumatra-Andaman Earthquake [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The 2004 Great Sumatra-Andaman earthquake had an average source duration of about 500 sec. and a rupture length of 1,200–1,300 km. The seismic moment, M0, determined with a finite source model, was 6.5×1022 N-m, which corresponds to Mw=9.18.

Comparing the Effect of Semi‐Immersive Virtual Reality, Computerized Cognitive Training, and Traditional Rehabilitation on Cognitive Function in Multiple Sclerosis: A Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cognitive impairment is a common non‐motor symptom in Multiple Sclerosis (MS), negatively affecting autonomy and Quality of Life (QoL). Innovative rehabilitation strategies, such as semi‐immersive virtual reality (VR) and computerized cognitive training (CCT), may offer advantages over traditional cognitive rehabilitation (TCR ...

Variabilities of ground motion in 2023 M w 7.8 Pazarcık earthquake in Turkey and 2008 M w 7.9 Wenchuan earthquake in China

open access: yesScientific Reports
Both the 2023 M w 7.8 Pazarcık earthquake (strike-slip fault) in Turkey, and the 2008 M w 7.9 Wenchuan earthquake (reverse-slip fault) in China occurred on the Eurasian seismic belt, with comparable moment magnitudes.

Seismicity and Ground Motion Simulations of the SW Iberia Margin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this study, we focus on the region between Gorringe Bank and the Horseshoe Fault located in the SW Iberia margin, which is believed to be the site of the great 1755 earthquake.

Ofatumumab in Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein Antibody–Associated Disease: A Comparison With Rituximab

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of ofatumumab in patients with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody–associated disease (MOGAD), and compare it with rituximab. Methods We conducted a single–center, observational study including 22 MOGAD patients treated with ofatumumab and 21 treated with rituximab.

Oscillations and waves in solar spicules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Since their discovery, spicules have attracted increased attention as energy/mass bridges between the dense and dynamic photosphere and the tenuous hot solar corona.

Innovative base-isolated building with large mass-ratio TMD at basement for greater earthquake resilience

open access: yes, 2015
Tuned mass dampers (TMD) have been used for the reduction of building responses to wind loading in many high-rise buildings. An innovative and resilient base-isolated building with a large mass-ratio TMD is introduced here primarily for earthquake ...

Mycophenolate Mofetil Treatment Reduces the Risk of Treatment Escalation Due to Vascular Complications in Limited Cutaneous Systemic Sclerosis: Emulation of a Target Trial From the Italian Rheumatology Society SPRING Registry

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) use in limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis (lcSSc) is relatively uncommon because of the lower fibrotic burden and the predominance of vascular complications. In vitro observations and clinical data from transplanted patients suggest a protective effect of MMF on endothelial function.
