Seismic Displacements Reduction for a Long-Span Cable-Stayed Bridge

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
Floating or semi-floating systems are usually employed for long-span cable-stayed bridges to lengthen their fundamental periods, and accordingly, to reduce their seismic inertial force, but the structures’ seismic displacements could be increased by utilizing these systems. Taking Yong-jiang railway cable-stayed bridge which has a low center of gravity

An Analysis Technique for Long-Span Cable-Stayed Bridges

International Journal of Space Structures, 1987
Long-span cable-stayed bridges have been growing in importance in the last few decades. The behaviour of this bridge type under vertical load is studied, and a structural model for its analysis is presented. The model accounts for the nonlinearity of the cables and is shown to represent the actual behaviour of the bridge deck with sufficient accuracy.

Travelling Wave Effect Analysis of Long-Span Cable-Stayed Bridge

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
The vertical distance is generally greater of long-span cable-stayed bridge, while the velocity of seismic wave propagation is certain, therefore, the incentive suffered of long-span cable-stayed bridge’s pier is not the same time, but there is a certain time interval.

Long-span cable-stayed bridge with hybrid arrangement of FRP cables

Composite Structures, 2020
Abstract This paper proposes a new design for long-span cable-stayed bridge with a hybrid arrangement of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) cables. Based on the considerations of the mechanical properties and economic performance, the reasonable spans of various FRP cables are analyzed according to the key parametric studies by means of analytical ...

Structural Health Monitoring of a Long-span Cable-stayed Bridge

Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures, 2007
Proper selection of methods and instruments for structural health monitoring (SHM) of bridges will assure reliability, durability, and lower life cycle costs. This article provides a case study for in-service monitoring of a recently built long-span hybrid cable-stayed bridge, Queshi Bridge, in southern China. Three parameters, namely the cable forces,

Integrated finite strip analysis for long-span cable-stayed bridges

Computers & Structures, 2015
An integrated finite strip discretization is proposed for long-span cable-stayed bridges. The entire bridge can be modeled using the integrated finite strip method. The interactions between different components can be considered in the analysis. The advantages of the method are simplicity of input data and high efficiency. The method is used for static and

Health-monitoring methods for long-span cable-stayed bridges

Infrastructure Asset Management
It is important to consider the impact of non-uniform excitations on long structures, including bridges. This study investigates how the dynamic behaviour of a cable-stayed bridge is impacted by multiple sources of support excitation. The bridge is simulated by using the Abaqus software.

Dynamic Characteristics of a Long-Span Cable-Stayed Bridge

Key Engineering Materials, 2011
In order to study the dynamic characteristics of a super-long-span cable-stayed bridge which is semi-floating system, the spatial finite element model of this cable-stayed bridge was established in ANSYS based on the finite element theory.Modal solution was conducted using subspace iteration method, and natural frequencies and vibration modes were ...

The Seismic Response Analysis of Long-Span Cable-Stayed Bridge

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
Anti-seismic property was essential in the progress of bridge designing and construction due to destructive power of earthquake disaster and increasing span of bridge. This paper elaborated theory method of analysis, taking five spans continuous cable-stayed bridge which was half floating system as an engineering background, and using method of special
