Wind-induced vibration analysis of the Hong Kong Ting Kau Bridge [PDF]
Because of their high flexibility and relatively low structural damping, long-span bridges are prone to wind-induced vibration. An efficient wind field simulation technique for wind-induced vibration analysis of long-span bridges is first introduced in ...

Structural analysis and construction control of staged-construction processes are major subjects in the context of modern long-span bridges. Although the forward and backward analysis methods are able to simulate situations, their main disadvantage is ...

Research on Collapse Process of Cable-Stayed Bridges under Strong Seismic Excitations
In order to present the collapse process and failure mechanism of long-span cable-stayed bridges under strong seismic excitations, a rail-cum-road steel truss cable-stayed bridge was selected as engineering background, the collapse failure numerical ...

Seismic Response Mitigation of a Long-Span Tower Bridge with Two Types of Constraint System
The stress of the main tower of a cable-stayed bridge depends on the connection type between the tower and deck. In order to study the most suitable longitudinal damping mode for a long-span cable-stayed bridge.

Life-Cycle Cost Analysis of Long-Span CFRP Cable-Stayed Bridges
With the advantages of high strength, light weight, high corrosion and fatigue resistance, and low relaxation, carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) is an excellent cable material for cable-stayed bridges. However, the relatively high unit price of CFRP compared to that of steel may hinder the large-scale application of CFRP stay cables.

Study to process abnormal data for GNSS monitoring system of a long-span cable-stayed bridge in Vietnam [PDF]
Global Positioning System (GPS) or currently upgraded to Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) has been applied in many SHM systems of the super-structures, especially in the long-span bridges.

STATIC BEHAVIORS OF LONG-SPAN CABLE-STAYED BRIDGE
