Connecting Bond Switching to Fracture Toughness of Calcium Aluminosilicate Glasses
ABSTRACT Fracture toughness is a critical mechanical property of glasses, but a detailed understanding of its link to composition and structure is still missing. Here, focusing on the industrially important family of calcium aluminosilicate glasses, we measure the fracture toughness of two glass series using the single‐edge precracked beam method, one ...

Abstract The large‐scale traveling ionospheric disturbances (LSTIDs) over the Asian‐Pacific sector during the 10–11 May 2024 superstorm are investigated using ionosonde observation and simulation from a whole geospace model—Multiscale Atmosphere Geospace Environment (MAGE), which fully couples multiple magnetosphere, ionosphere and thermosphere models.

Abstract During the geomagnetic storm on 10 May 2024, neutral density measurements from 14 Tianmu, Swarm, and GRACE‐FO satellites at ∼510 km altitude, combined with total electron content (TEC) observations, enabled the first global observational comparison of large‐scale traveling atmospheric and ionospheric disturbances (LSTADs/TIDs) via snapshots ...

Use of MAGSAT anomaly data for crustal structure and mineral resources in the US midcontinent
Magnetic field data acquired by NASA's MAGSAT satellite is used to construct a long-wavelength magnetic anomaly map for the U.S. midcontinent. This aids in interpretation of gross crustal geology (structure, lithologic composition, resource potential) of

Dramatic and Elusive Resonant Lattice Kerker Effect in the Nonlinear Response of Plasmonic Lattices
Plasmonic metasurface that supports the resonant lattice Kerker effect, manifesting as the suppression of reflection in a narrow spectral range due to the simultaneous excitation of electric dipole and quadrupole modes, also gives rise to a substantial near‐field enhancement.

The fundamental index–bandgap trade‐off strictly limits materials for short‐wavelength nanophotonics. The van der Waals crystal CdPS3 emerges as a compelling alternative platform challenging this paradigm. Combining an exceptionally high refractive index approaching 3 with a broad mid‐infrared‐to‐ultraviolet transparency window, CdPS3 unlocks new ...

RI-04 Interpretation of Lake Washington Magnetic Anomaly, Meeker County, Minnesota
A magnetic anomaly centered at Lake Washington, in southeastern Meeker County, has been outlined by a ground magnetometer survey. The anomaly is arcuate in outline, about 8.5 miles long and a maximum of 5 miles wide, and has a maximum amplitude ...
