Study on Reactive Power Compensation Strategies for Long Distance Submarine Cables Considering Electrothermal Coordination

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2021
Long-distance high voltage alternating current (AC) submarine cables are widely used to connect offshore wind farms and land power grids. However, the transmission capacity of the submarine cable is limited by the capacitive charging current.

Development and Experiment of Clamp Type Submarine Cable Inspection Robot

open access: yesMachines, 2023
Relying on the research and development project of an auxiliary device for a submarine cable to cross a steel pipeline, with regard to a long-distance submarine cable crossing a pipeline, combined with a pipe-climbing robot and the laying of the ...

Artificial molecular machines and motors—Design and control of nanoscale motion

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Molecules are constantly moving because of thermal fluctuations, but random motion alone cannot be exploited to perform directional tasks. Artificial molecular machines use chemical, electrical, or light energy to bias this motion. Molecular shuttles, rotary motors, and supramolecular pumps illustrate how nanoscale movement can be controlled and ...

Correlation Characteristics of Multi-Source Monitoring Data of a Cable-Stayed Bridge under Multiple Loading Conditions [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Cable-stayed bridges are widely applied in long-span bridge systems, and their long-term operational safety remains a key concern. Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) systems provide continuous multi-source data; however, environmental actions ...

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Unique circulating miRNAome signatures captured with distinct molecular states in Lynch syndrome and sporadic colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNA profiles distinguish nonmalignant Lynch syndrome from cancer‐associated Lynch syndrome, sporadic colorectal cancer, and healthy controls. Age‐stratified analysis reveals disease‐specific regulatory states, and a six‐miRNA panel shows concordant separation in an independent colorectal tissue cohort.

Genetic dissection of human ABCE1 in yeast reveals separable requirements for ribosome recycling and suppression of aberrant reinitiation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human ABCE1 cannot functionally replace its yeast ortholog. Yeast–human chimera analysis identified NBD1 as a major interspecies barrier. Genetic screening yielded hABCE1 revertants that rescue yeast viability but fail to suppress aberrant translation reinitiation in the 3′ UTR.

MSSB to Prevent Cable Termination Faults for Long High Voltage Underground Cable Lines

open access: yesElektronika ir Elektrotechnika, 2019
Cable termination fault is one of the most important problems for high voltage underground cable lines (HVUCL). Harmonic current (HC) and the sheath current (SC) are causes of cable termination faults of HVUCL.

Rotator Cuff Anterior Cable Reconstruction With Long Head of Biceps Tendon Autograft

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2020
Rotator cuff tears with anterior cable disruption show a more detrimental natural history than tears with an intact cable. Anterior cable reconstruction in the setting of such tears provides a potential avenue to improve tissue quality of the repaired ...

Recent insights into the molecular mechanism of ubiquinol oxidation by cytochrome bc1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The review reflects on the mechanism of the catalytic reaction in cytochrome bc1: the electron bifurcation that involves the separation of two electrons derived from the quinol oxidation to opposite sides of the enzyme across the membrane. This review summarizes the long‐standing effort to understand the mechanism of quinol oxidation catalyzed by ...
