An Integrated Time-frequency Framework for Cable Force Identification in Long Cables of Long-span Bridges

open access: yesPeriodica Polytechnica Civil Engineering
Accurate identification of cable forces is crucial for the Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of long-span cable-stayed bridges. However, vibration-based methods face significant challenges when analyzing closely spaced high-order frequencies in long cables, including the difficulty of identifying low-order frequencies and the propensity for modal ...

Gallium Microalloying in Bi–Sn Solders: Interfacial Phase Formation, Wettability, and Long‐Term Shear Reliability Under Isothermal Aging

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Gallium microalloying redirects interfacial reactions in low‐temperature Bi–Sn solders from Cu–Sn toward Cu–Ga intermetallic formation. The resulting Cu–Ga layer suppresses intermetallic growth during thermal aging, alters fracture pathways, and improves interfacial stability.

Materials‐Driven Additive Manufacturing for Electrical Machines: Qualification‐Oriented Design Beyond Geometric Freedom

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This perspective reframes additive manufacturing for electrical machines as a qualification‐limited materials and architecture design problem. It links process–structure–property–performance relationships to magnetic, conducting, dielectric, and thermal property windows, highlighting where AM can enable segmented magnetic circuits, permanent magnet ...

Development of Analytical Method for Cable-stayed Bridges Considering Local Damages Caused by Failure of Supporting Cables

open access: yesStructural Mechanics of Engineering Constructions and Buildings
Bridge structures are often subjected to extreme conditions such as rough weather, earthquakes, impacts from traffic accidents, and even blasts. Such extreme loads can cause damage to the anchorage zones as a result of high stress concentration and can ...

Research on Collapse Process of Cable-Stayed Bridges under Strong Seismic Excitations

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2017
In order to present the collapse process and failure mechanism of long-span cable-stayed bridges under strong seismic excitations, a rail-cum-road steel truss cable-stayed bridge was selected as engineering background, the collapse failure numerical ...
