A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

PELATIHAN LARI-LOMPAT DI PASIR MENINGKATKAN JARAK CAPAIAN LOMPAT JAUH LEBIH PANJANG DARIPADA LARI RINTANGAN PADA SISWA SMPN-11 DENPASAR

open access: yesSport and Fitness Journal, 2014
Success in the long jump is strongly influenced by the explosive power of the leg muscles. Increasing this explosive power will increase the distance long jump performance.

Intelligent long jump evaluation system integrating blazepose human pose assessment algorithm in higher education sports teaching

open access: yesSystems and Soft Computing
There are issues in current higher education long jump teaching, e.g., assessment relies on teachers' experience, lacks scientific evaluation, and can't quantitatively give performance feedback to students.

Parametric modeling of sports prostheses based on the flat spring design formulas

open access: yesJournal of Biomechanical Science and Engineering, 2019
Sports prosthesis for lower-extremity amputees has a mechanical structure similar to flat springs, and its elastic energy is expected to improve sports performance. However, it is quite challenging to represent the mechanical phenomena during the takeoff

From the long jump random walk to the fractional Laplacian

open access: yes, 2009
This note illustrates how a simple random walk with possibly long jumps is related to fractional powers of the Laplace operator. The exposition is elementary and self-contained.Comment: Submitted to the Probability Surveys (http://www.i-journals.org/ps/)

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Dynamics of the flip long jump

open access: yesPhysics Education, 2023
Abstract The long jump is a track and field event in which athletes attempt to jump as far as possible from a take-off point into a sandpit. In the 1970s, an athlete called Tuariki Delamere tried to introduce a ‘front flip’ technique where one goes into a front tuck instead of using a regular technique like the hitch kick and argued that
