Co‐Firing Slow Solidification Process for Growing Indium‐Doped Cs3Cu2I5 Single Crystals With Record‐Breaking X‐Ray Detection Performance

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A novel brand‐new co‐firing slow solidification process has been used to prepare Cs3Cu2I5: In single crystals (SCs), which demonstrate record‐breaking X‐ray detection performance. The regular‐shaped Cs3Cu2I5: In wafer obtains a high light yield (74 368 Ph MeV−1), which is the highest related to indium‐doped Cu‐based perovskites.

Propagation Characteristics of Optical Long Period Fiber Gratings using Graphical Solution Methods

open access: yesJournal of Microwaves, Optoelectronics and Electromagnetic Applications
In this paper, we explicitly show a complete analysis and detailed calculation of propagation characteristics of the effective refractive indices of the core and cladding for a long period grating employing both the Two-Layer and Three-Layer Geometries ...

Thin-Core-Fiber-Based Long-Period Fiber Grating for High-Sensitivity Refractive Index Measurement

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2015
We experimentally demonstrated the fabrication of asymmetric long-period fiber gratings (LPFGs) in thin core fiber by use of focused CO2 laser beam.

An SSI‐Informed Design for Tuned Mass Dampers With Small‐to‐Large Mass Ratios

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Tuned Mass Dampers (TMDs) are used to mitigate structural vibrations induced by seismic or wind excitation, by tuning the device to the system's dominant resonant frequencies. However, the TMD effectiveness can be undermined by soil‐structure interaction, which can lead to elongation of the vibration periods and to combined translational ...

Finalisation of the European Approach to Assess the Fire Performance of Facades—Brief Information on the Outcome of the Project

open access: yesFire and Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This research was conducted within the framework of project SI2.825082, funded by the European Commission—DG GROW. The project's objective was to finalise a European approach for assessing the fire performance of façades under medium and large fire exposure conditions.

Fluorene‐based blue emitters: On the path to electrically pumped organic lasers

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
Electrically pumped efficient operation remains unrealized, a major challenge in optoelectronics. Fluorene‐based blue‐emitting semiconductors are promising gain media, thanks to their structural tunability and favorable emission properties. This review summarizes recent advances, highlights their reliability and versatility in lasing, and outlines key ...

Simultaneous generation of first- to fourth-order OAM modes based on a cascaded preset-twist long-period fiber grating

open access: yesNanophotonics
We propose and demonstrate the simulation and fabrication of an all-fiber orbital angular momentum (OAM) mode converter capable of generating first- to fourth-order modes simultaneously, which is realized by inscribing a cascaded preset-twist long-period

Identification and correlation of the Aso‐3 tephra in the Omaezaki area, central Japan: A valuable key stratum for the MIS 6/5 transition period

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Aso‐3 tephra is one of the most significant widespread marker layers from the Middle to Late Pleistocene, generated by a large caldera‐forming eruption at the Aso volcano in Kyushu, southwestern Japan. Despite its importance, a distal co‐ignimbrite ash correlative has yet to be clearly identified, primarily because although volcanic glass ...
