High Sensitivity Cryogenic Temperature Sensors Based on Arc-Induced Long-Period Fiber Gratings
In this paper, we investigated the evolution of the dispersion curves of long-period fiber gratings (LPFGs) from room temperature down to 0 K. We considered gratings arc-induced in the SMF28 fiber and in two B/Ge co-doped fibers.

640 Gb/s timing tolerant demultiplexing using a cascaded long-period fiber grating pulse shaper [PDF]
An SMF inscribed with two polarization independent long-period gratings is used for sub-picosecond pulse shaping and validated in a 640 Gb/s data demultiplexing experiment, providing a jitter tolerance of 510 fs.

Scalable Thermal Engineering via Femtosecond Laser‐Direct‐Written Phononic Nanostructures
This study demonstrates that femtosecond laser‐induced periodic surface structures (fs‐LIPSS) can function as phononic metasurfaces, reducing thermal conductivity below the plain thin‐film limit. Phonon Monte Carlo analysis reveals that the periodic structures restrict phonon mean free paths.
