Steel-Based Electrocatalysts for Efficient and Durable Oxygen Evolution in Acidic Media

open access: yes, 2018
High overpotentials, particularly an issue of common anode materials, hamper the process of water electrolysis for clean energy generation. Thanks to immense research efforts up to date oxygen evolution electrocatalysts based on earth-abundant elements ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Critical Currents of Ideal Quantum Hall Superfluids

open access: yes, 2003
Filling factor $\nu=1$ bilayer electron systems in the quantum Hall regime have an excitonic-condensate superfluid ground state when the layer separation $d$ is less than a critical value $d_c$.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Monolithic Perovskite/Perovskite/Silicon Triple-Junction Solar Cells: Fundamentals, Progress, and Prospects

open access: yesNano-Micro Letters
Highlights Perovskite/perovskite/silicon triple-junction solar cells (PSTJSCs) are emerging as a promising strategy to exceed the efficiency limits of traditional silicon solar cells.

Real-time identification and prevention of voltage instability using synchronized phasor measurements

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
This paper presents a novel measurement-based voltage stability indicator suited for real-time monitoring at the transmission level. Building upon a previously defined approach that uses variations in apparent power and impedance, the proposed indicator ...

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Distributed voltage control in electrical power systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Voltage instability stems from the attempt of load dynamics to restore power consumption beyond the capability of the combined transmission and generation system.
