The analysis of load carrying capacity and cracking of slightly reinforced concrete members in bending

open access: yesBudownictwo i Architektura, 2008
Slightly reinforced concrete members are the members made by concrete with reinforcement less than minimum given in codes for reinforced concrete ones. Plain concrete and slightly reinforced concrete members in bending are treated in the same way during ...

Clinician and patient factors associated with long‐term glucocorticoid use in people with rheumatoid arthritis on advanced therapies

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Background Despite guideline recommendations, long‐term glucocorticoid (GC) use is common in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). We conducted a clinician survey nested within a large registry to identify patient and clinician factors associated with GC use. Methods Clinicians contributing patients to the CorEvitas Rheumatoid Arthritis registry were surveyed ...

Experimental Study on High-Pressure Air Blasting Fracture for Coal and Rock Mass

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2019
In order to research on the issue of high-pressure gas blasting fracture deeply, a high-pressure gas blasting cracking experimental system was established; the effects of gas pressure and gas volume on the morphology of crack growth were studied; the p-t

Short‐term response to biologic therapy in psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is not influenced by disease duration at initiation of therapy

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives We aimed to determine whether the short‐term response to biologics in biologic‐naïve psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is better in patients initiating biologic treatment early in the disease course. Methods PsA patients who started biologic therapy from the year 2000 to 2025 were included for analysis. Patients considered in the early treatment (ET)

Fracture criterion for predicting edge-cracking in Hot rolling of twin-roll casted AZ31 Mg alloy

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2020
Edge-cracking as one of main defects for rolled Mg alloy sheets is inevitable due to the combined characteristics of the material and process. This study aims to quantitatively analyze the damage distributions induced by rolling deformation in transverse

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

Microstructural Evolution and Vacancy Defect Formation in Mn–Mo–Ni RPV Steel Under Low Cycle Fatigue: Insights From EBSD and PALS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Investigation of Concrete Cracking Effect in Deck Slab of Continuous Bridges

open access: yesThe Baltic Journal of Road and Bridge Engineering, 2010
Analysis of the literature has shown that two main factors, which should be taking into consideration in designing of continuous bridges, are the influence of cracking on serviceability of the structures and inelastic behaviour of structural elements ...

Solid‐State Diffusion and Intermetallic Phase Formation in Roll‐Bonded Mg–Zn Composites With Kirigami‐Patterned Inlay

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.
