Balanced Designs in Longitudinal Population Pharmacokinetic Studies
The Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 1998A simulation study was performed using a balanced design to determine the sample size required for accurate and precise estimation of a parameter at a given level of intersubject variability in a longitudinal population pharmacokinetic study. A two‐compartment model parameterized in terms of clearance (Cl), volumes of the central (V1) and peripheral ...

Tracking non-traditional populations in longitudinal studies
Evaluation and Program Planning, 1995Abstract As health services research focuses on prevention and drug treatment programs for special populations, maintaining panel samples at adequate levels over time becomes more important. Differential panel mortality poses a serious threat to the internal validity of experimental designs and the external validity of study conclusions.

A Longitudinal Study of Suicidality in a Homeless Population Sample
Archives of Suicide Research, 2021Little research has been conducted on the timing of the onset and course of suicidality relative to the timing of the onset and temporal status of homelessness. Integrating Longitudinal Population Studies of Aging in Biological Research
2020Aging is a complicated biological process defined by a combination of species-specific phenotypes. Understating this complex system in humans requires collaboration across a wide range of scientists including molecular biologists, biochemists, biophysicists, biostatisticians, geneticists, demographers, and epidemiologists.

Longitudinal Studies of Lead Levels in a US Population
Archives of Environmental Health: An International Journal, 1973In an attempt to determine whether current levels of lead in the environment are causing any progressive change in the blood and urine lead concentrations of the US population, an investigation was undertaken to monitor, for a five-year period, urine and blood lead values of a population living in 23 US cities.

Attrition in a longitudinal study of an aged population
Experimental Aging Research, 1976This report focuses upon attrition in longitudinal studies of older persons using a Florida survey as an illustration. In 1959 interviews were completed with a probability sample (N = 2544) of older noninstutionalized residents (age 65+) of a retirement community.

Longitudinal association between epilepsy and schizophrenia:A population-based study
Epilepsy & Behavior, 2014A large number of studies have reported an association between epilepsy and major psychiatric conditions. This study investigated the association between epilepsy and later schizophrenia, utilizing a historical-prospective, population-based design. Of the 861,062 17-year-old male adolescents consecutively screened by the Israeli Draft Board and found ...

Longitudinal study of stimulated whole saliva in an elderly population
European Journal of Oral Sciences, 1992The aim of this investigation, which is part of the longitudinal gerontologic population study in Gothenburg (H‐70), was to examine the effect of aging on salivary flow. Three 70‐yr‐old cohorts, born in 1901/02, 1906/07, and 1911/12, were studied both cross‐sectionally and longitudinally.
