A Gaussian Process Regression Model for Estimating Pore Volume in the Longmaxi Shale Formation

open access: yesProcesses
Shale pore volume is a critical parameter for reservoir evaluation. Accurate and rapid determination of this parameter is essential for identifying sweet spots and performing reliable reserve estimations. Currently, laboratory experiments remain the standard for determining pore volume; however, these methods are typically time-consuming, costly, and ...

Diagenetic characteristics and microscopic pore evolution of deep shale gas reservoirs in Longmaxi Formation, Southeastern Sichuan basin, China

open access: yesUnconventional Resources
The Lower Silurian Longmaxi Formation is the favorable target area for deep shale gas exploration and development in southeastern Sichuan Basin. Based on whole-rock X-ray diffraction analysis, scanning electron microscope, reservoir evolution thermal ...

Response of geochemical characteristics of organic-rich shale of Longmaxi formation to the sedimentary environment in the Neijiang-Rongchang area, Sichuan Basin, China

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The Lower Paleozoic (Upper Ordovician–Silurian), a globally deposited organic-rich shale, is one of the most prevalent source rocks worldwide. However, the origin of these shales remains uncertain.

Shale petrofacies division of Wufeng-Longmaxi formations in Sichuan Basin and its periphery

open access: yesShiyou shiyan dizhi, 2020
The research of shale petrofacies is significant for the exploration of shale gas "sweet spots". Different petrographic division schemes have been proposed but no consensus has been reached. This paper has studied the criteria and boundary values of the petrographic classification reference parameters of the Upper Ordovician Wufeng-Lower Silurian ...

Accumulation condition for Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation shale gas of Yanjin-Gongxian area

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2016
The formation conditions of shale gas in Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation of Yanjin-Gongxian area were analyzed on the basis of field observation and experimental data, and then the main factors for shale gas accumulation were discussed. Results show that black shale at the bottom of Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation is a deep-water shelf deposit product.
